Did anyone hear Jamie Pollard on last night's Coaches Corner radio show? I missed some details as was doing something else but thought I heard the university had secured a large donation that might speed the development of the area over what was originally projected. I did hear Pollard and others had met with hotel chains to discuss possibilities of new construction in the north part of the area.

Some highlights:
*Construction fences going up next week for Phase 1 (infrastructure)
*Bids came in ~$5M under budget for infrastructure portion
*Secured a major naming gift to start infrastructure portion
*Combo of low bid + major gift leads to potential earlier start to Phase 2 infrastructure (parking lots, center "spine" to ISC)
*Conversations/presentations on hotel/convention center have occurred
*JP going out on donor calls with Wintersteen the next few weeks
*First step to Scheman renovation goes to BOR this week

Dr. Wintersteen is well thought of in major ag circles so I could imagine she'd have some good influence that a "Deere/Case/Vermeer" type of large donor would be interested in.
