Entries aren't released yet so don't know who's going but we have 30 wrestlers per-registered. It looks like Nebraska will have their full team there and at least a handful each from SDSU, Minnesota, UNI, and Wisconsin plus some top lower level schools. So there should be a decent number of ranked wrestlers there and some good matchups in the later rounds.

Looks like Hall will be there but will be unattached. I believe after this event the NCAA will let him put an ISU singlet back on.

Most everyone is rolling along well. Couple of freshman, Storr and Baptispa with close losses, the later to former top recruit Destin McCauley 2-0. I'm just watching on track, but it appeared in both cases that bottom wrestling was a problem, which is not unusual for freshman, but a troublesome trend for our team. Everyone else of consequence is winning big.

Yeah, I'm aware of this, which is why I asked for the backstory. He hadn't lost and his projected matchup with Dudley was the most anticipated match of the tournament, so I'd be surprised if it was just a 'Nah, don't want to today' kind of reason.

Pestano and Spoon are champs. I might have missed some, but I think these are our placewinners:
125 - Simmons -3rd
Vega - 6th
133 - Hall 2nd
Parker 3rd (note Boston MFF to Parker in consos or he may have placed)
141 - Storr - 3rd (he came a LONG way back after losing early)
149 - Bricino - 4th
157 - RRS - 5th
165 - Pestano 1st
174 - Weatherspoon 1st

Downey MFF in the quarters, don't know if strategic or injury. Colbray was 1 match from placing.

Smith, Meeks/Moreno and Harrington projected starters not wrestling.

Larson lost badly to both. I would think Simmons would be the guy moving forward.

KJ may have to look at Storr for 141 if Moreno can't go.

Heard Downey was getting beat by the Nebbie backup and got hurt.

Good effort out of the young guys at 125. Nice to see Pestano win. Spoon was Spoon. Lots of work to do outside of that. Thought Colbray would have done better. Earl getting 2nd a week after oversleeping and missing a tournament isn't encouraging. But it's a long year and clearly we aren't peaking early.

Earl losing to the #4 guy in the country in his first competition back isn't exactly cause for concern IMO.
