just saw this too. article also mentions Northeastern deciding to drop football 10 days ago (same conference).

players will remain on scholarship if they stay in school at hofstra or are eligable to play immediately if they transfer. do we have any business going after any of these guys (from either school)? i mean it would be like getting a juco guy right. we could fill an instant need.

Lots of schools this size lose money on the program... They have a choice, go the Drake route and pull the scholarships or just drop it... The regents have brought up UNI's deficit for two years now... It may be more pertinent to this state than you think, unfortunately.

you know...youre right. why would espn put it on their front page? why does anyone in the nation care, outside of Hofstra University. perhaps because its news...and people talk about news...on message boards...and, wait....yep this is a message board.
