Over the years, Tang has been offered several jobs at lower-level programs and passed on them. It's noteworthy also that Tang is a minority and hiring minorities has only recently become a "thing." K-State had a stated objective of doing just that. Had it not been Tang, I believe it would have been another minority. With all of the supposed interest in Tang, how did he last 18 years at Baylor?
Tang has seen K-State rockin' at its best with Dean Wade, Rodney McGruder, Michael Beasley, and others. He said he was taken with the environment. He knows what it takes to win in the B12. He's been recruiting in these demographics for a long time. His staff is from this conference's footprint, mostly Texas. So, there are many logical reasons for him wanting this job over others, like Missouri.
We'll have to see if it comes together, or not. Several players have left the squad over the past week. So, he's cleaning house.
