Carleton was right in the middle of a brouhaha at Target Center last night. Her foul on Wings player was upgraded to fragrant and things got nasty with a few fans being ejected.

Not sure how this got upgraded or was even a foul unless Carleton's hand caught her across the face. I don't get how it hurt her ankle. Odd play, odd call, crappy fans response.

In the NBA / WNBA it is a flagrant foul if they determine that the defender's foot was in the landing area of the shooter. BC was called for this twice last night so was ejected for two Flagrant 1 fouls.

After the game, Reeve blamed Collier for the foul and Collier agreed. She blew a defensive assignment, which led to Bridget having to run over there to contest the shot. Everyone also apparently found it hilarious that super mild-mannered Bridget got ejected from a game.

Not ISU related but this bizarre ending. Seattle gets ball down 5 with 15 seconds and just gives up.

Ashley's season is over, but the postseason starts tonight for Carleton and the Lynx. They play tonight @ the Connecticut Sun at 7PM on ESPN2.

It's a three-game series -- Game 2 is on Sunday, and game 3 (if necessary) is a week from today.

Not a great start for the Lynx. 90-60 loss in game 1. Bridget had 6 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 steals.

After the complete mess of the first game, the Lynx managed to take game 2 82-75. Bridget had 6 points and 3 rebounds.

The final game is Wed at 7pm on ESPN. The first two games were @ Connecticut, so this game will be a home game for the Lynx.

Lynx were eliminated 90-75. Carleton had 13 points, good for #2 on the team. She played 29 out of 40 minutes and had a plus/minus of +8, so the Lynx were outscored by 23 in the 11 minutes she was out.

She is an unrestricted free agent now, but she has a pretty good thing going with the Lynx -- I'm hoping they re-sign her.

Reeve really likes her - is very unselfish and always at the right position.

From https://www.thegazette.com/cyclone-...mens-basketball-star-preparing-for-wnba-play/

"Bridget is always ready and willing to do whatever is necessary. She’s trustworthy. She’s always going to be where she’s supposed to be,” Reeve said. “I just know that when something happens, it wasn’t BC’s fault because BC literally is always where she’s supposed to be.”

I have been able to watch many of her games and Reeve users her as a stopper (many times she is guarding one of the best players on the other team) and someone to hit a 3 to start a run. there have been many times I have seen her open but does not get the ball as her teammate takes a difficult shot. she passes up shots if she sees a teammate may have a better shot, she is very much a "TEAM" player as apposed to some on her team. the WNBA with the small rosters and few teams make some players become selfish and only care about their stats and forget team play.

With Bridget Carleton signed with the Lynx and Stephanie Soares signed with Dallas we only have Ashley Joens with an outside chance to make a roster. Anyone seen if Joens got a training camp invite from anyone? Would seem if she did get an invite she'd be here in the USA getting acclimated to the 7 hour time change. Going with she didn't get one considering the league and team she was playing in Italy wasn't very good and she wasn't like any sort of league leader or anything. Think their season is close to being over. Weird that they play only one game a week.

Key Dates:
  • April 15: WNBA Draft
  • April 28: Training Camp Begins
  • May 3: Pre-season Games Begin
  • May 12: Last Possible Date for Pre-Season Games
  • May 13: Final Roster Cut-down Date
  • May 14: Regular Season Begins
