Locked Threads

First off, this is your site and I understand you can do whatever you wish but what is the logic in being able to view a thread but not able to post a reply (with exception to announcements)? Seems like it should be all or nothing.

Occasionally, the moderating team decides that a thread is best to be closed if there are posts or discussions in it that are inflammatory, unsavory, or not appropriate in some way.

It is just a way to get everyone involved to step away and get back on a more positive track.
