David Peralta released by the Cubs. He was picked off 1st yesterday and injured his leg/ankle. The reaction of the 1st base coach was not good but he did walk of somewhat on his own but needed help down the dugout steps. He's 36.

Edit: he opted out

He was only hitting like .180 here in Iowa. Rather fill the spot with young talent

Spending Brown last night makes the pitching options for Atlanta limited. If Taillon isn't ready.
Imanga Monday, TBD Tuesday, Assad Wednesday. Pannone is the best option at Iowa threw 6 solid innings Thursday.

Forgot about Sunday. Straily not a good option but probably best available.

Wow, Steele gives up three homers and 6 runs. Pirate bullpen walks in 4 runs. Tied at 6 right before the rain delay. Cubs have bases loaded.

He's a guy you could call up for a spot start then DFA and likely bring back to Iowa as I doubt anyone will claim him on waivers. Too soon to bring Horton up so you sacrifice a guy that it won't hurt to lose if he doesn't clear waivers or accept an assignment.

Horton threw yesterday so he really isn't available short term and he got rocked.

Pretty infuriating L.

9 runs on 20 hits/walks.

Steele giving up 2 absolute bombs on 0-2 counts in which the ball couldn’t have been more over the plate and belt high. Bullpen doing bullpen things.

Pirates haven’t scored more than 5 since April 14 and doubled it up today because we just put the ball on a tee for them. Just gross stuff, really

Probably going to need 9 more runs today. They announced after his start in Des Moines they wanted one more rehab so this could be ugly.

Small positive. Straily was on longer rest than Hendricks if they were going to use him this week it likely would of been today. So Tuesday will.be Taillon or Pannone.

Adding to yesterday’s insanity, Morel is in the lineup today (yay) and isn’t Wisdom still on the team? Why did we have .218 with zero pop Madrigal hit for Morel with the bags juiced in the 5th?
