That was a brutal 45 minute wait. Note to self: lots of alcohol to get through next year's selection show.

I don't know but they are 30-2.

They are 2-2 vs the RPI top 100. The other 28 games were against teams worse than #100. 20 games were against teams worse than #200.

They are a good team, and we have our work cut out for us. I'm just explaining how a 30-2 team can have an RPI of 48.

Well, 10am our time means following by Live Stats on computer (in meetings this weekend in M'town).

And I don't like the idea of playing Marist; it seems like they have almost always been a lower seed and won their first round game.

Best wins were on a neutral floor in Las Vegas tourney in December. They beat Louisville, and Houston as their best wins. Next best RPI in the conference is 131. Metro Atlantic is the 23 best conference out of 31.

When you start talking 10 seeds, they all suck equally.

The committee goofed up. Marist should have been at least a 9, and Charlie Creme's latest Bracketology had Marist as an 8. I'm sure they feel they were underseeded, and the last thing we need is a talented opponent with a chip on their shoulder.

Marist is #1 in the nation in scoring defense, #1 in fewest turnovers, and #3 in FG% defense. Seems kind of similar to us in some respects. They traditionally shoot a lot of threes.

So were we so this is essentially an 8/9 game with winner playing a 2 instead of a 1.

Looking over some box scores, they are a guard oriented team with a pair of 5-8 shooters (sr and jr). They have 6-2 and 6-4 sophmore inside players who contribute but don't appear to be first option.

Also, they have only been in 5 games with a less than 10 pt differential, going 3-2 in those games. This means either they are real good (ala UCONN, Stanford) or they play weak competition. It also means they are not as accustomed to tight endings and could be more nervous/unsure if it is a tight game at the end.
