This Ream/Gonzalez pairing is brutal. Need to get Cameron and Brooks healthy and together again. Also, figure out RB.

I'm glad Villafana is getting his shot. He was fantastic for the Timbers and looks to be the answer at LB for the national team.

Yeah the defense blows. Should have subbed out Altidore he isn't doing anything.

If we could hold on to a tie, how does that fare for direct qualifying?

I just don't get it with Michael Bradley. He's either spectacular or terrible. No in between or consistency. Frustrating as hell.

Just expect him to suck and make bad passes. So when he plays well it's a pleasant surprise.

After these past couple of NT appearances, that should definitely be the expectation.

So looking at the schedule, we need to beat Trinidad and then hope for a draw @ Mexico....but I'd settle for 3 points.

That would be massive to get a draw at El Azteca. Hopefully our squad is fully healthy by that time. Four points in the next two should be enough to get us through with the games following.

Final match day of the Bundesliga going on right now. Hamburg and Bobby Wood are currently tied with Wolfsburg with 20 minutes remaining on FS1. If Hamburg can manage to win this they will avoid the relegation playoff spot in the table.

Update: Hamburg wins 2-1 to secure their spot in the Bundesliga next year.

Also in the Bundesliga, Weston McKennie made his debut for Schalke today.

Also, the U20 World Cup has started this weekend. Most of the matches are on FS1 live, but live means the middle of the night since the tournament is in Korea. The US plays its first match against Ecuador on Monday morning at 3 am (Sunday night) for those that want to record.

Here's the U20 roster:

GOALKEEPERS (3): Jonathan Klinsmann (University of California; Newport Beach, Calif.), J.T. Marcinkowski (Georgetown; Alamo, Calif.), Brady Scott (De Anza Force; Petaluma, Calif.)

DEFENDERS (7): Danny Acosta (Real Salt Lake; Salt Lake City, Utah), Cameron Carter-Vickers (Tottenham Hotspur FC; Westcliff-on-Sea, England), Justen Glad (Real Salt Lake; Tucson, Ariz.), Aaron Herrera (University of New Mexico; Las Cruces, N.M.), Erik Palmer-Brown (Sporting Kansas City; Lee's Summit, Mo.), Tommy Redding (Orlando City SC; Oviedo, Fla.), Auston Trusty (Philadelphia Union; Media, Pa.)

MIDFIELDERS (5): Tyler Adams (New York Red Bulls; Wappingers Falls, N.Y.), Luca De La Torre (Fulham FC; San Diego, Calif.), Derrick Jones (Philadelphia Union; Philadelphia, Pa.), Eryk Williamson (University of Maryland; Alexandria, Va.), Gedion Zelalem (Arsenal FC; Bethesda, Md.)

FORWARDS (6): Jeremy Ebobisse (Portland Timbers; Bethesda, Md.), Lagos Kunga (Atlanta United FC Academy; Tucker, Ga.) Brooks Lennon (Real Salt Lake; Paradise Valley, Ariz.), Emmanuel Sabbi (Unattached; Columbus, Ohio), Josh Sargent (St. Louis Scott Gallagher Missouri; O'Fallon, Mo.), Sebastian Saucedo (Real Salt Lake; Park City, Utah)

U20s beat Senegal this morning 1-0 and Josh Sargent now has 3 goals in the 2 group games played so far. Not bad for a 17-year old playing up an age group.
