The conference championship gives ISU a reasonable path to playoffs, whereas it basically eliminates that other team in eastern Iowa of ever getting in … likely at least 5 , 6, or more teams in that league that will always be better

Do not be surprised if those go away if the P2 get their way.

Good god....so they can nearly guarantee that their darling programs won't have to face each other during the season. :puke:
They'll play every other program at least twice every four years.

But of course they're putting discussions of moving to a 9-game conference schedule on the back burner for now.

Not sure who the darling programs are, but Alabama will play @ Tennessee (2022), @ LSU (2022), Georgia (2021-2), Auburn (2019), @ Oklahoma (2013-4), South Carolina (2010), @ Vanderbilt (1984) and Mizzou (1975) this year. The date in parnethesis is the last year those teams beat Alabama.

I stand corrected.

Cincinnati did sneak in there that one year, so its possible. I think it'd take an undefeated G5 team who at least played a decent schedule and a 3 loss Big 12 champion in a down year to even think about it.

If Washington State ran the table next year, they'd have wins over Texas Tech and Washignton. If Tech and Washington happened to be Top 25 teams, Wazzou could easily jump over a 3 loss Big 12 champion.
I agree with most of what you are saying except that instead of Wazzu it would have to be a G5 champ with the same resume. All this is very hypothetical and would rarely happen of course.

I'd rather the Big 12 champ got the bye, another Big 12 team got an at large bid and 2 undefeated G5 champs got ranked 11th and 12th (when it comes to hypothetical situations).

It may be the opposite. It's possible this is how the conference will deliver over time on a relegation model, with a big game division and a Vanderbilt division, without making it explicit.

I was hypothetically considering Wazzou a conference champion when it all shakes out. Not next year though.

Why stop there? Make it double elimination for schools in those conferences. Give them a 2 touchdown lead to start every playoff game and let them select their own refs.

If they are the best and the only ”Power 2” conferences why do they keep moving the goalposts for further advantages? Chicken **** *****.

Breakaway I do not care anymore.

I dont understand 14. Why. Why not just go to 16 and be done with it.

16 makes too much sense I guess and that doesnt go well with anything done these days.

Byes are dumb, and give an unfair advantage.

That's the point where everyone else should tell them to pound sand.

Break off and do your own thing if you want.

It's pretty amazing that everything they come out with gets progressively worse. It's actually impressive how blatantly obvious they're being.
The ideas are SO bad that I’m convinced they have already settled on a…not good but less bad agreement.

Leak the worst ideas out there to get everyone mad and then they won’t be as mad when the final solution is finalized.

I don’t like byes and I don’t like 14, always thought 8 was the right number. But securing two autobid for the Big12 and ACC might increase stability. Also really good for ISU
