Barta has cost the Uof! over 10 million in lawsuits just over the last few years. I wouldn't be surprised if the President lets him go.

Firing Barta and leaving kf/bf alone is a total Hawkeye move.
I don't disagree, but I think Sand's point is that Barta has cost the University millions in discrimination lawsuits alone. Not covering for Kirk, but the person with a clear history of discrimination is Barta.

How much are the taxpayers gonna have to pay in severance to Barta to make him walk away? He's going to sue, and it's going to buy him time FWIW. The bar is extremely high for breach of contract with a State entity. Being bad at your job is typically not enough to get out from under these type of contracts Scott-free.

So did I read that correctly that the prior settlements didn't require state funds? What's different now?
