But "Guardians" is such a stupid name for a baseball team.

They had the Cleveland Spiders or the Cleveland Municipals begging for them.

Nope. Pick the stupid one.

Here is hoping the Washington NFL franchise doesn't pick something equally as bad.

"Cleveland Munis" has a certain ring to it, and it is a reference to the old Municipal Stadium.

I would have preferred Spiders the most, however.

Spiders was the obvious choice that would have been best.

Guardians is kinda meh, but the local connection is fine once you learn it.

The biggest thing they screwed up was not doing a logo that actually incorporates the, you know, guardians.

Instead, they ripped off the original Angels Disney takeover era logo? What the hell?

I believe the term guardians was chosen to show deference to the Native American that were “the guardians” of the land if remember the explanation.
