Toledo is (only) a 3.5-point underdog at Mizzou this week.

Their QB is Philip Ely, former 3-star (Rivals) recruit who committed to Alabama and transferred after one year. He threw 4 TDs in their opener against New Hampshire.

Sweet.

I've got Toledo to win this game outright. We shall see....

Re: Toledo (+3.5) @ Missouri

Can someone explain (unbiased) why the spread is only 3.5? Toledo isn't much of a homefield advantage anyway, and Mizzou is pretty decent aren't they? They are ranked, which probably doesn't matter much at this point in the season. Any key players injured?

As mentioned, the game is at Toledo, so (presumably) Mizzou would be about a 10 point favorite at home.

I think it would probably be less than 10. Home field is about 3 points. Would Toledo get the full avg of 3 points for their intimidating 26k home attendance capacity? I don't know.....

And people called me delusional for saying Toledo will be favored over us. Do people think we will be on Mizzou's level in October?

Toledo beat the #6 FCS team at home 54-20 last week. Toledo has a great chance to win the MAC. Everyone who is chalking this up as ISU's 1 win this season is kidding themselves.

The question is why we haven't we become good after 5-7 years?

If you want better football then for crying out loud Hire a Better Football Coach....Earl Bruce isn't coming back anytime soon......

Good ol boy Gene Chizik's recruits aren't coming back either.

We need to schedule the best of the best of the mid majors now and then hopefully they'll tank in 5 years rather than what usually happens

Re: Toledo (+3.5) @ Missouri

Why does every "cupcake" we schedule become good 5-7 years later???? WHY???? :realmad:

Didn't Toledo beat us last time we played them 6-7 years ago?

(I was there for the loss. Not sure it was the last time we played them though. Pretty sure it was. I reiterate, Ohio fans suck)
