I wandered over to central campus around midnight tonight hearing that there were thousands of people celebrating the news of Bin Laden's death. I'd say there were about 1-2K people in front of Curtiss lighting fireworks, chanting "U-S-A! U-S-A!", waving huge flags. It was a pretty cool sight. After a while, they all marched down Union Drive towards the president's house. I was interested to see where they'd be headed next, but just walked home instead.

Anyone know where this "riot" ended up going? hah

Here's the video I took. There are lots of other videos on YouTube popping up from the same celebration.

After the knoll we walked down lincoln way (4 lanes across) to the clock tower in campus town.

It was awesome! I left after that but Twitter tells me that they're near JTS.

Haha! Awesome. I was surprised not to see any police whatsoever. People were drinking and lighting fireworks on campus, no problem.

From the sounds of the police scanner, the police pretty much escorted the entire crowd from Central Campus, to Welch Ave, to Jack Trice Stadium, and now back. :twitcy:
I think they just wanted to control the crowd from getting too out of hand and block traffic, rather than try to disperse it and hand out tickets.

These pics don't even do it justice. There were two lanes full of people on Lincoln way for probably 2-3 blocks straight. Just a ton of people out.

Not quite as impressive as Penn State - their celebration was awesome.
Looking east from Welch, Lincoln Way was solid people.

That video should be sent in to CNN and FOX News!
