Cyclone Basketball@CycloneWBB ISU senior Chelsea Poppens will not play tonight for the Cyclones. Amanda Zimmerman will start in her first game since OU in 2011.
Pop won't play. Z will start, Fennelly said it was a hunch. She has been practicing well. This doesn't surprise me. I like what I have seen with Z lately. Anyway I personally see a positive in this, even if we do lose. Z needs experience and she can help us later on in the year. I hope she gets some rebounds. Pop has got me worried. Nikki won't start. She was late to practice, but she will play tonight. Fennelly didn't sound mad at her, she apparently made a mental mistake. Go Cyclones!
We got that announcement three times. Hope folks got it. We were all on pins and needles about Pop.
Concussions are wierd things. Justin Morneau missed most of a baseball season with a concussion, and the circumstances of how he got his did not seem as severe as Pop's. I think it is encouraging that she is running and practicing now. It probably won't be long until she is back. I would think they might be waiting an extra long time to bring her back partially due to her style of play. It's not as though she is likely to take it easy out there when she gets back on the court.
16-5, I never have been a big fan of post players shooting threes. I think they need to rebound and people shooting 3's rarely rebound them.
