That is so lame.Pollard and the ISU athletics account both tweeted today about Saturday's weather. Gamesmanship.
I was kidding when I called it gamesmanship. They tweeted about the weather but not in a way atypical of how they usually tweet. That is so lame.
My wife gave these to me for Christmas in 2018 to wear in cold weather games. My feet have sweated in them despite the cold. They're fantastic and I love them.Good point. Does anyone on here work outdoors and have any good tips on products like this that actually work? Or hunters? I’ll admit. Im an indoor person. But i want to be there for this game and not friggin freeze. Lol
Just ordered a pair. They arrive Friday just in time to get a good test on Saturday. ThanksMy wife gave these to me for Christmas in 2018 to wear in cold weather games. My feet have sweated in them despite the cold. They're fantastic and I love them.
Coincidentally, I gave her the same socks the same year at Christmas. She gave me a gold pair, I have her a cardinal pair. She found the pair she bought at Hy-Vee, I found the pair I bought at Strawberry Patch in Ames.

Saturday game will come close to the KU game by the second half...single digits...will easily be the 2nd coldest game. Man, that will definitely cause some shrinkage of the Tech tortillas.Looking at the scenario... I'm thinking about 18° at game time. About 14° at the end of the game. Not a ton of wind but will bring things down closer to feeling like 5-10° during the game.
I'm having troubles finding the coldest games in JTS history. I believe they used to publish them in Media Guides but the 2022 version doesn't have this info. If anyone can lead this horse to water, I'd appreciate it.
That said, I know KU - 2013 was the coldest with a game time temp of 8°. Ames Municipal Data shown in the graph.
Colorado - 1991 Blizzard is number 2. It was 17° at game time. Ames Weather Station wasn't around so Des Moines Int'l Data shown in the graph.
This Saturday one would be up in the realm of that #2 range.

Positive is, the west siders will have shade the whole game.Somewhere I have a photo of a Coors Light can I snuck in for that game and I don't think I have ever seen the mountains as blue on the can as they were that day. In fact was cold enough the beer was getting slushy and I had to put the cans back into my coat to keep warm enough so they would not freeze.
Just stocked up on some hand and feet warmers last night. Was really hoping for a 2:30 game this week so would be at the "peak high" temp with maybe some sun so it doesn't feel as cold.
Official game weather info is recorded at/near kickoff. Any large temperature swings during the game aren't part of the record. This is every JTS game below freezing:
8 - KU 2013
17 - CU 1991 (N 15-20, WCI -15)
20 - MU 1979 (WCI 11)
21 - KSU 1995
22 - OSU 1985
25 - KSU 1993
25 - BU 2018 (WCI 18)
26 - NU 1976
28 - KU 2000 (WCI 0)
28 - KSU 2003 (WCI 21)
31 - KSU 1984 (N 20-25)
I was going to go with WeatherTech is overrated.WeatherTech makes some good stuff.
Heated coats are fantastic. Always carry a spare battery with also. Lasts the entire game. Carhart coveralls as well.Good point. One of my sons and his friends were in the vicinity of the teletubbies in the student section in light jackets and I spent the game worrying about them, but at least they had hats and gloves. Other than that it was a blast. Someone gave us a cup to dig the snow off our seats but our feet were in snow most of the game. Guy a couple of rows ahead of us had painted his chest. Best part was the game was never in doubt.I’m pretty sure the wind chill during that Kansas game was in the 10-20 degrees below 0 range.
Oddly enough, that game is a really fun memory.
