At this rate of improvement, he will be above 50 by the sixth game of the season.

Good Game Cyclones. Wasn't pretty but it's hard to win pretty in Kinnick. IOWA will ugly up a game. More impressive that Iowa State could execute after several momentum killers. Winning after 2 punt blocks is a tough mental challenge

It was one of the weirder games I've seen from either team.

ISU checked all the boxes for trends in this game and it was still theirs to lose somehow in the end.

There's a chance for things to start to ascend for both teams.

Petrus would have been a wedge man on kickoffs. Rhoads almost always had undersized reserved on the kickoff team.
