Do you get that the majority of people of this site are sick of the hawk threads? Do you get that out of the thousands of people to look at this site daily you only have a dozen or so who keep posting and starting these threads with you being one of the major players. Oh, but its the "clone" fans fault not the half dozen hawk fans, yourself included, that are involved IN EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THESE THREADS.

That's right, I used capital letters....

Again, if you don't click on it, you won't have a problem. Pretty simple solution. Goddamn, it's a message board - stop taking yourself yourself so seriously. Have a beer, watch some porn...whatever you need to do.

Leave it alone. You guys (moderators) do a great job. No need for further changes.

Agreed.

To the people who complain about too many Hawkeye threads being on the front page.... easy solution.

START MORE ISU THREADS

There, problem solved. If you see Iowa threads, start more ISU ones. Win-win for all involved. Plus, I'm sure Jeremy wouldn't hate the increased traffic.

ISU threads are started. And hawks make it about Iowa.

ISU plays Iowa and goes after some of the same recruits...so hawk trolls feel that is their "in" to start a ******* contest if ISU fan brings it up.

A bunch of people on this thread have said it's more the ISU fan's fault for starting the threads. I call BS. It's a cyclone site. We play in the state of Iowa and against Iowa. We should be able to discuss all things related to ISU (including Iowa) without it always turning into a ******* contest with trolls like THH, DJK, Gov, Gary Johnson, and the rest of them.

The one cool thing when jeremy started this site was it was Cyclone fans discussing Cyclone stuff. I still like the site. I just wish there were no Hawkfans. At the very most the game week I could understand them coming on here to talk some smack. Smack is always good on game week. Right now we get daily updates on what the Hawkeyes are doing.

The old saying, "If you don't have anything good to say...", doesn't really apply to hawk fans. Have you ever known any of them to shut the hell up?:nah::nah:

Nice use of the english language. Really highbrow stuff to use profanity on what used to be a very clean board.

My question TarHeelHawk is why you would want to be on Cyclonefanatic? I understand dropping by to see what Clone fans are saying. However there are some of you that are on here all of the time. I drop by Hawk forums just to see what type of recruiting they are doing. I have never post though. You guys seem to post all of the time on this site about Hawk stuff. Did you get run from Hawk forums for something and just decide this is the next best place. If you want to become TarhealClone we will accept you as one of our own.

There are some ******* posters on here, both clone and hawk alike.

The good ones, like tarheel, rdubbs and djk15, actually have meaningful input to most conversations, until the thread is derailed into "Hox sux"vs. "Clowns"....then we get dumb out of both sides.

It also works the other way. What if Hawkeye posters could use a little restraint? Not click on a thread, not add any Iowa information to a thread? That's not so difficult, either.

START MORE ISU THREADS

I agree mostly with dosry5. Threads about ISU are started. And generally it ends up in a ******* match between 5-6 Hawkeyes and Iowa State fans. Some Hawks have even admitted to being more inflammatory than probably necessary just to get a rise out of Iowa State fans.

Personally, I like CF. It's become my main MB to visit, even though I've been a member at two other general interest MBs for years. I don't mind some rival input - I think it's necessary to have some sort of balance, and I do like to read some information on what's going on at other schools since I don't hang out on HR or other websites. But the constant one-upping and Iowa Rules! does get tiresome. Hopefully it's just a summer thing.

IIRC: last year the wasn't a lot of Hawk fans posting. And this year there is. IMO, if we win this years FB game, the number of Hawk fans around here will dwindle.

The suggestion that hawk fans are only responding to Cyclone fantagonism is a falacy anyway. One need not look very far to find threads started by hawk fans about the hawks.

Future Hawkeye RB - Jeff Brinson (hawkfan)
DJK (antisnob)
Roy Marble (djk15)
Jewel Hampton Torn ACL (dfwcy)

It's easy enough to ignore this type of thread. I have more of an issue with the ISU topic threads into which UI rhetoric is entered. You couldn't open a Paul Rhoads thread without finding an unsolicited KF comparison. It does get tiresome...

I'm fine with the Hawk posters, I dont think they've been trolls. At least we dont have d-bags like JWRHawk, C-NoteHawk and other rivals losers posting here.

I can't believe the in-state rivals posts still show up on the front page. Simple solution is to treat them like the Gaming/Groups forum.

If Rivals/Scout have taught us anything it's that the lowest common denominator (TSAHawk, or whatever that one dudes name on Rivals is JWRHawk, etc.) are they types of posters that flame in these types of forums. These are also the types of trolls most posters don't want to deal with.

Take the instate rivals stuff off the main page already.

This.

I wouldn't mind all that hawk talk, the back and forth, if it were limited to the rivalry board (and that board was opt-in, but I digress). But inevitably somebody takes a shot at iowa, more often a hawk puts their unsolicited two cents in - and the misery commences.

I like the threads informing us on who just committed to the Clones. That is then followed by 7 or 8 Iowa posts about how Iowa's class is shaping up and how it is so much better then ISU's and how they are just killing the Clones in instate recruiting. Really? I just wanted to read information and thoughts about the kid that just committed to ISU.

I'm not sure this is completely necessary. Just make it like the Gaming/Groups forum where it's easy to get to and anyone can see it, it just doesn't appear on the front page.

To me - it's six one way, half a dozen the other.

Not sure what the diff is or why pol is opt in, and gaming isn't. Net result is the same. I'm just preferring the "opt-in" because I have faith that Jeremy can do his magic and get that user-definable frontpage worked out. Everybody is happy then.

My point being, that it isn't on the front page. If an ISU thread devolves into rivalry banter, then it ought to be moved to the rivalry board, in which case I wouldn't really care to see it any longer.

The optimal solution IMO is to not allow "other" fans to post in the ISU forums. Completely impracticle. It would just be unfortunate to have to move a thread (or close it) because it didn't stay on topic and devolved.

Well I will say a lot of them come here thinking they are going to put us in our "place" and that they are the information police.

Honestly, they do provide a lot of good information on what's going on at EIU. They were gold and black glasses however and we really can't expect them to be any more impartial than we are about the Cardinal and Gold.

Still I scratch my head as to why they come here. I think some of the guys just like to argue and are Internet Tigers.
