Darius Reynolds--possession receiver?

I know a lot on here expected big things from him, but nothing of the sort has developed as of yet.

I know he had a decent first game, but not gaudy #'s by any means---less than 9 yards a catch, not that there's anything wrong with that.

Is he a guy we should throw it to on 3rd down when we need 3 or 4 yards? I don't think he's had a drop yet, has he?

I'm not going to fully judge the WR's until Arnaud turns it around. He looks like our biggest "home run" threat but it's early. I think Sed Johnson could turn into that big play guy down the road. Darks is the definition of a possession receiver. Hopefully we can get him going next week.

We have a lot of receivers running deeper routes, but I can't think of any to him so far this season.

Is he not as fast as we thought?

He seems to have good hands, so maybe that's how we're utilizing him and there's no rule that you can't take a short pass to the house.

I am surprised he's not averaging more yards per catch.

I think Saturday proved discipline and technique beats thug and swagger...especially in full view of Iowans. Money spent more time doing circles then gaining yards. I am not pointing a finger @ Darius. I am talking about LJ and KB too. Watch the replay of the NDSU game. On one play you will see LJ talking smack, waiving his arms on the sidelines, and on the next he and KB are giving up a TD to a TE. Open your eyes.

All but one of the passes to him have been behind him, almost on the ground and generally off target. The one decent pass to him, found two defenders in his face and should not have been thrown.

i think he can make people miss and be a big play type of guy, but when you catch the pass and turn up field and see 5 defenders with a clear shot at you it hard to make a big play. Is it just me or does it look like we are scared to open up the playbook?

Why can't he return punts? Lenz is catching them, which is good, but doesn't seem like a threat to do anything with the ball after the catch.

Wasn't his uncle bragging about him taking it to the house in practice a couple times or something like that?

Arnaud had just a horrible game yesterday. Also, ISU's WRs have NEVER figured out how to block on that bubble WR screen. Other teams run it with a lot of success, but we never block it well for whatever reason. Combine the fact that Money got no blocking on those screens with the fact that Arnaud never hit him where he was supposed to, Money had no chance. It was not his fault.

If we block it correctly, and hit Money right on the hands in stride, he will take it to the house... mark it down. He has that ability.

In the above scenario, so do all the other receivers on our team.

It appears we need a guy to do it when it's not blocked perfectly and with a below average throw. Is that guy on our team? Cuz we could use him.

Money had a couple of 15-20yd routes in the NDSU game. He dropped a pass (actually a good one from AA) that was about 20yds downfield. Went right off his hands.

I can see Money's talent. We need to figure out better ways to utilize it....I agree.

A couple of those screen passes to Money yesterday he had to pick off the turf just to make the catch. Those plays are doomed if you don't hit the WR in the numbers in stride.... period.

Your little vendetta against Reynolds and his brother is pretty lame. Nobody looked good yesterday. Let's give him a little more time.

2 things that would make him a better player. Don't bobble the catch (especially with the gloves they make these days) and turn it up field (on the play with 5 guys around he would have had 3-4 positive yards if he just cut up field and didn't dance)

Amen to that!!! Arnaud makes alot of bad reads, and on the reads he does make correctly, he throws behind the receiver...or at their feet...etc.
