I want to know the reason behind the reinstatements soon here too. Really makes us look hypocritical of how we rip on Iowa's lack of discipline. I hope there is something pretty concrete behind the reason like the charges were dropped or something not just "we'll let the judicial system run its course" like the Hawks have said many times.

Well I am sure we will find out soon. I highly doubt our Athletic Department would just let us sweep it under the rug. Maybe some people jumped to conclusion a little to quick when this all came out!

Have to agree with Keith Murphy here - we should have heard about this first from Rhoads - even if it's a five-minute presser.

'Us', meaning the message boards?

For the love of god, CPR better have an explanation because the message board posters have people to answer to.

Maybe our head football coach and AD are more concerned abour running their own program the right way than they are about making a few people on a message board look like hypocrites? It doesn't make our coaches or AD look hypocritical, just a few fans who take pride in comparing arrest records.

Maybe it is silly to rip on Iowa's FB program for 18-22 year old kids getting caught drinking and being stupid in the first place? Maybe its stupid to feel that our FB program is somehow superior to Iowa's based on number of arrests, rather than success on the field?

Maybe people care enough to not WANT their program to have the same issues as iowa and to be seen under a similar light, share the same scrutiny in places like the media.

Good God man, this isn't just about comparing us to them. It's pretty much all about US. Some of us want to know our program is something to be proud of and not simply win at any cost.

Man, I don't know about this. I would not have seen this coming at all, I figured they would get suspended for 1-2 games and come back...but what purpose does suspending them 3 days leading up to gameday do? I am hoping there is something more too this that we don't know about...

It will be interesting to see how Kennard Banks handles things if he sees the field again. He's now got this arrest hanging over his head on top of the fact that he has been getting beat on a regular basis. I was thinking he should be shown the bench even before the arrest.

I understand that this is a forum and people like to chat and express personal opinions. I usually jump on here every now and then to get input on news good or bad with any of our athletic programs. After reading this thread today I am labeling this whole situation f'in ridiculous... You guys act as if someone was raped and murdered... The reason CPR hasnt came out and announced anything at a presser is probably because unlike us hes waiting to get every last detail before taking any action. For those saying that were hipocrits if were playing this off... Really last time I checked having a jar with residue in it wasnt even remotely close to a felony... Forcing yourself on an unwilling girl because you think your the bomb, Theft, Repeating offender OWI's, Beating up a cab driver because your roid raging... Those are a few of the instances I recall being connected to Iowa athletics... Those are felonies and if they happened here the player would not be on our team. Were not hipocrits were just saying that until our suspended then unsuspended mediocre players are proven guilty then drop it. This wont get swept under the rug, Im sure all of the details will be released soon for those of you DEMANDING AN EXPLANATION!

I wouldn't worry about you looking hypocritical for your "rips" on the U of I's lack of disciprine. There are plenty of other ways you have done this over and over again....:)

Good - I'm glad CPR isn't trying to be some cowboy to impress the drill sergeant wing of cyclonefanatic. I'm sure more will come out in due time and in the mean time I will be looking foward to Army.

If any hawk fans try to bust your balls (which is what I'm sensing is the real issue to many of you) you just need to remind them that we don't care about players getting into minor trouble from time to time...we've all been bad and gotten caught. Getting caught twenty some odd times in roughly a year or so with some rape and felony fraud sprinkled in is what our problem was. Not some hawk player that had to much to drink.

This is a silly notion. Do you really want your coaches and AD looking at what causes their decisions will have in the finger-pointing game that goes on between fans? Do you want them to skim through CF and notice that we have been critical of how Iowa has managed their players suspensions, and to suspend accordingly so fans can save face? C'mon.

I am assuming that the coaches and AD are much more in the know than us. I imagine that there is a reason for this decision that we may never know about, and to be honest it would probably be silly for our coach to make a statement like: "We have revoked the suspension of the three players because it has been determined that one of their buddiers rolled a joint on their couch and sticks and stems ended up in their couch"...or something of the like.

In the face of what we know as fans, this decision seems a bit strange. But in the end, we are just fans, and to the chagrin of many, we will not always have all the information.

You can't have it both ways... How many arrests until a Cyclone fan can be outraged... why don't you tell us?

Pot smoking isn't a real reason to be arrested. That's what this is coming down to for most these guys.
