"Kansas Football: We play more games before noon than you do."

7 of KU's last 8 home games have started before noon. Sucks for tailgating.

Well, you could... But, you might have something like this in your yard or on your roof. :biglaugh:

This seriously made me laugh. When I bought my house I had 3 dishes (2DTV and 1DN) in my yard. Even still they had to install another Dish Network one when I got my cable hooked up. I pleaded with him to take them away and he said he could only take 2 of them but was nice enough to take the 3rd one down.

Good we're on TV, personally was hoping for a later kickoff. Looks like we'll be headed down the night before.

I have Mediacom cable and will just watch it from home.

Did this and it was great.

Here's the $64 question...how easy is it to find a bar that carries cable or DISH? I'd bet most sports bars worth their salt have DTV, lest they don't watch the NFL on Sundays...

Good question. I'm certainly not an expert, but don't many sports bars carry both? I'm thinking a few bars in town (specifically Wallaby's and West Town) have both Mediacom AND DTV (or dish). Could be wrong though - I know it would be super expensive to carry 2 or 3 different options, but worth it if the average Cyclone fan can plan on just showing up and assume the bar will have it on.

That makes the first 6 games of the season televised in one form or another. For those of us that live out of state this has been great so far this year. Considering how poorly the team has performed in the past few seasons I think we should all be very happy with the level of coverage we are receiving.

I live in Omaha, and exactly 1 of these 6 games you are referring to has been/will be available through our cable provider (COX), the Iowa game on FSN. I wouldn't exactly call that "great" coverage of the Clones, and that's only 2.5 hours from Ames.

Here is an except from an email I received from DirecTv:

I understand your concern regarding Versus channel. Unfortunately, Versus is no longer available on DIRECTV. Comcast, the largest cable company in the U.S. and our largest competitor, owns the channel and has forced us to pull it down. Here is the situation.

DIRECTV was already paying Comcast more than any other TV service provider to air Versus - and now Comcast is demanding an overall rate hike of 20% on top of that. Comcast also forces DIRECTV to make Versus available to a much larger portion of our customer base at our own expense than they require from other TV providers - most notably, DISH Network. We simply cannot accept these unfair and outrageous terms. All we're asking from Comcast is equal treatment.

Comcast and Versus are currently engaged in a noisy publicity campaign to distract attention from the fact that they are trying to take advantage of DIRECTV and our customers. The bottom line is this, if we were to accept their unreasonable demands, we would have no choice but to pass on the increase in cost to our valued customers. We do not want this to happen, especially in these difficult economic times. That's why we're standing firm in our negotiations with Comcast.

There are always two sides to every story, but who knows. Hopefully, they can get it resolved.

I'm sure that if DTV were to give up their exclusivity rights to the NFL then Comcast would be more likely to play ball.
