I State now 4-0 with a 41 point win.

Gilstrap and Brackins combine for 49 points

The thing I liked about this game is how quick I State was able to get out of a slump. We started out ugly... turnovers... bad shots... the whole works. But we didn't ride it out till half and make adjustments then. They turned things around by the 5 minute mark and built a 44-22 lead by half. Things weren't going well for Craig and Gilstrap early. But they didn't let the bad falls get them out of their game.

Craig almost had a double double by half and rebounded extremely well. He displayed an unstoppable jumper throughout the game.
Gilstrap droppin some treys really started to show his scoring ability this game. (And continues to rebound well too)
DG was a little more sloppy than we've seen so far... (but he's set the bar so high and had a good game overall and got to the freethrow line a few times). Continues to put up the assists like crazy.
Colvin... I love his game... but hasn't had much success finishing at the rim in contact so far this year. I know he can... just hope it comes around by conference.

All in all... fairly solid play by all those not mentioned. Mistakes here and there.= But they all did a good job helping Craig and Gilstrap get their points.

I wasn't impressed with the officiating this game.

Much better job rebounding as a team. But we need to hit our free throws better.

Oh and a final note. Craig attempted a tough putback dunk that flew 20 feet in the air and dropped back in with a swish. That was pretty cool. I hear he'd been working on that one all week.

I thik part of our problem early was that Craig settled for jumpers rather than driving to the bucket. Once he got more physical, things really opened up for him. I've said this before, but I believe they should smack him in the mouth before tip-off. He's a much better player when he's fired up.

On his missed dunk miracle shot - everyone in the building seemed impressed except him. Don't know if it was frustration or embarassment but he didn't even crack a smile.

Can't wait to have Dendy back.

That shot was awesome, unlike anything I have ever seen. Brackins said he never saw it and had no idea what had happened. He said that after the game.

I know someone probably asked this, but what was actual attendance like?

Actual attendance was about half full I would say? They let people come from up top down to sit behind the hoops.

Am I the only one who misses the cookies they used to sell there?

Listening to the pre-game show John said that MVS played Gonzaga close till the very end? Is that what they said or was i just hearing stuff? That's pretty impressive beating at team by 41 that gave a national power all they could handle

Not sure, but Gonzaga won that game by 18, so it is possible that they played them tough for a while.

EDIT: From this blurb, it doesn't sound like they were that close: http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/basketball/recap?gid=200911140233

Might grab a few votes soon, but even with a win over a possibly ranked Notre Dame, it will still be awhile before we crack the top25. With Cal not looking like the top25 team they are supposed to be, the best way for ISU to get ranked is to beat Duke. Beat Duke, and we could jump from unranked to the top10 overnight.

Jump to Top 10 after a win over Duke? Let's be realistic now

Past three-four games, they double/triple teamed Brackins, so he didnt have too much opportunities to go one on one against their big guys. Delta Devils didnt want our guards to shoot threes, so they didnt double/triple CB as much. CB definitely made them pay by not having two-three guys on him. This team is def legit, CB isnt the only go to guy. I love it!

I would guess around 7,000. they let the 200 level come down after the second time out and the parquet was mostly filled and still some in the balcony

Honestly, if students have left for Thanksgiving break, that isn't bad.

Biggest difference to me is this year we have the personnel to adjust better within a game if they take something away. We tried this last year with Craig inside and Lucca outside, but if teams doubled Craig and Lucca had an off night, we were screwed. This year we have so many more options and are such a more balanced team to actually do what McD coaches to do.

Twelve guys on our team had points today. It was awesome seeing all the combinations we can throw out there.

Students have left for break.

If I had remembered that there was a game today, I might have driven down (remembered that WBB was at Drake, but forgot MBB playing until not worth driving down - would have gotten there about 2:20).

Radio said about 11,000.

Not even close, and that's to bad. This is one helluva team. Hilton Magic will be back this year. I can't wait to see at what level they can perform once they jell, and 14,500 loud and cheering fans ignites Hilton.

This team is GOOD

I had to work today so I missed the game... but I'm extremely impressed with how we have started this season.

It will be interesting to see where we stand after this week.

That is realistic. Beating ESPN's darling on one of their channels for the entire world to see. Yes, if ISU goes into that game with 1 loss and beats Duke, they will get the votes.
