I can not believe how much this playing out on here!

I think it is very simple, when you atack individual players in an email to Jamie Pollard, or to probably any of the coaches, they will get pretty nasty back to you just like Jamie did to this kid. Go after him or any of the coaches, and the response will be a lot different than if you go after individual players.

I think the response was appropriate, if he wrote it at all.

I'm surprised an AD at a BCS program is spending precious time crafting a letter to some dude from Urbandale. I guess we're not as big time as we would like to be.

So why not buy season football tickets? Contribute to the Gridiron Club. There are many ways to support the Cyclones without supporting the MBB program if the Raineys don't want to.

Soooo the money I use to buy season tickets for football only go towards football??? Not some to volleyball?? Women Basketball??? Mens Basketball??

Find that hard to believe since football drives all sports.

Plus if someone treats you that way about buying tickets for one program why buy for the other...

Just become a Tavern Clone fan that doesn't have to spend the money.

On the contrary. I'm probably going to up my donation because of this. Moreover, I'm probably going to send it in a box with some freshly baked cookies.

The "solution" would be either dealing with the fact that he's the basketball coach next year, or ponying up enough money so that ISU has the $2,000,000 to buy out his contract at the end of next season.

If you want a Ferrari, you better be willing to put up Ferrari money. If you're shopping for one with $10K in your pocket, it's going to be a looooooong search.

Bingo. If you want a change Pony up the money. If you don't give your money Mac will still be here because there is no other way out without the money. If you hold on to the money fine, just don't ***** that there is no change. I am only speaking of the people that are planning on quitting. Not people that currently do not. In the end, not donating, IMO does not help. Not going to the games and showing low attendance will suffice in that aspect. In the end, the people at the games and the success of the team will make that decision. Not the number of tickets sold. Jamie is not an idiot.

Again for the record, you are a whiny little attention grabber.

Congrats. Pat yourself on the head.

If that letter if real, then you've got a terrible idea about expressing your opinion. If it's fake, you're even more special.

It is a small amount but doesn't eveyone feel "entitled" if their taxes go towards something???? No different here. I feel if my taxes are used to fund roads, then I should be entitled to use them.

Just playing devils advocate on this.

Playing devil's advocate back...

My tax monies have funded the development and production of the F-22. Do I get to fly one, because frankly, that'd be badass.

Whether that is true or not...do you still think you should have sent that snotty, immature email? Where you made stuff up, put down student athletes, and told a man with much more responsibility than you have (or will ever have) that he might lose his job. It was rude and hopefully you grow up from this experience and learn that there are adult ways to talk to people to get a point across

Lesson:

If you are in a public position of power and someone writes you a nastygram, write them a PC letter back and then in real life, swear a few times and go to the gym.

You save yourself the time. If it happened something like that, we wouldn't be 40 pages deep in a conversation about writing nasty emails.

Funny though because if you read any in-game thread, there's a lot of people basically saying the same thing, yet we're giving this guy **** for saying it to the AD in an email.

Oh, don't get me wrong I agree. I grew up on a farm and my grandfather and father own a significant amount of land. I heard about this stuff. I am just saying that IMO you aren't giving enough to justify a changing event. Besides that then you qualify every taxpayer as having and equal opinion. Also, everyone pays the same relative amount in taxes to the AD so I don't feel it separates individual and with no doubt, some individuals should have their opinions weighted heavier.

Well, believe it or not...when someone turns 18 years old, some parents say "well, you can make your own decisions now. You are an adult." They might not agree with it, but he didn't do anything illegal.

If I did that, and my parents found out, they'd probably tell me it's not wise, but it's my decision now that I'm an adult and I will hopefully learn from it and learn how to better structure my words next time.

Yes, then your parents are different than mine. A lot different. Not until they were done helping pay for school, and I was on my own, did they consider me an "adult." Nor did the parents of any of my friends.
And since I share the same last name with them, I'm still accountable. Woe to me if I embarrass them. Writing, and then sharing such an email with the media would sure classify...

If only Pollard practiced Parkour, he wouldn't have gotten into this mess, right?

I want a chopper...can you please get that arranged? Or a tank. That'd be pretty badass too.

The difference is this guy used it as an attention grab by forwarding it to the media.

Opinions are never wrong. How you voice your opinion on the other hand is different. The way you voiced your opinion was wrong and juvenile.

You were wrong as soon as you forwarded it to the media, and blatantly disrespected someone older than you publicly in such a way.
