This thought had occurred to me while reading his original email: it appears as though he copied and pasted stuff that was said on this board word for word. I don't believe that much of what he wrote was original but was taken from posts on here.

This guy signs up for CycloneFanatic one day after the press conference. He reads a bunch of stuff that people are saying on here. Sees an opportunity to try to stir things up a bit and so zips off his email.

I'm sure his time here is short. Guys like him don't usually last long.

I applaud JP for calling this DB out. Too many people in JP's position hide and PC everything to the point it is meaningless. This clearly irked JP and I for one am glad he can respond in words that EVERYONE clearly gets the message, not some bogus generic meaningless "we appreciate your passion for ISU basketball " crap.

I think we are missing the major point here....

If you are Pollard.... WHY WOULD YOU RESPOND TO IT??? Take the high road and don't act like a jerk on a response... How hard would that be???

Just walk away... Boom outta here...

The reason I like how JP responded is because I find it refreshing for someone to say what they think. I am tired of all the political bs we hear everywhere else from all the phony suits. What is wrong with a little passion?

So if we contribute more money, that means JP will fire GM? Why didn't he just say so in the email!

Nothing is wrong with passion... He is using it in the wrong way though... More people then just this kid are turned off by it. It will cost us money in ticket sales and merchandise.

Can the university afford that???

I agree with bellz unfortunately. Pollard needs to realize he's in the cross hairs. Take the high road, reply with a generic response or don't reply at all. The only mistake the e-mailer made today is he put his name on his work, it's no different than the crap that gets spewed by people on the message boards every day. Except in those cases the people get to hide behind screen names.

Well it's really like the pot calling the kettle black here is what I meant...people are giving him **** when they say the same thing, but the difference is they didn't directly send it to JP

Maybe I read the wrong email, because I still don't see anything wrong with it. Or are we talking about Matt's spin of the email?

A buddy who goes to games with me (and his season tix are in my name) also wrote JP an email, after the Monday announcement, expressing his frustration with Gmac coming back. Knowing him as I do, I'm sure it was a respectful, concise, and logical letter.
I'll be interested in seeing the tone of JP's response, if there is one...

You lie! Pollard said he only received one negative email! Or is Pollard lying.....

Yep, that's the difference. I thought that you had a good idea about what's said on here being the same as what's in the email. I just kind of expanded on what you had noticed. The timing and all of him signing up for CycloneFanatic and reading posts and then firing off an email saying the same things he'd read on here is very interesting.

Yep, pretty much and JP should know how to handle criticism to not write an email like that. If you don't like criticism, don't take a high profile job where you're in the public light.

(and I am not going to say the guy "stole" anything. I have many friends who aren't part of this board who say the same things).
