Sorry, maintain242001, not buying it for a second. Cael is no coward as a wrestler or a coach. Squawk fans may use his changing coaching positions as an excuse to boo him, but I can't believe most squawk fans were upset with Cael because he left rival ISU to go to Penn State. It's just an excuse to boo him for kicking your butts for 4 years and replacing Gable as the greatest collegiate wrestler of all time.

No it isn't?

You better believe I believe it. At least I believe it for most squawk fans that bood Cael. If Brands left Iowa for Cornell or wherever do you really think if he got bood when Cornell came to Ames that it would be because Clone fans are mad at him for leaving Iowa? Like I said, not buying it for a second.

Sure iowa loses some big guns, but that roster is very very deep. we seem to load up on out of state kids. I know there is a geographical disadvantage with those IC kids, but the hawks are loaded.

Will Slaten be back next year? With all of the off the mat issues that went on around him, I'd be surprised if he makes it back. Also, won't Thompson be here next year for heavyweight? I know there was some news on him a while back but I thought he was good to go for 2011.

Matt Gibson, a 6'6", juco might be the HWT next year. Gibson beat Thompson at the Harold Nichols Open in 2008. Here is an article on him Beast

Having Gallick back next year is huge. Between Long, Gallick, and Reader, ISU has the basis for a decent team. Just need guys like Weathermen or Jensen to step up.

You should have seen my jaw hit the floor during quarters this morning when Oklahoma went from 8th or 9th to second because they beat the hell out of everyone.

We just seemed to set the tone on day 1. People can say it doesn't matter, and that it's arguably easier to gain more points by losing early. But, to lose five of the first ten matches has got to be tough on the psyche, right off the bat. Couple that with iowa winning 9 of the first 10, and I believe 17 of the first 19, and it just makes for kick in the teeth. Some teams can overcome that big deficit, and hopefully KJ builds a program that will be able to do just that...

Was that it? The scoreboard on the mat had 6 or 7 lights on at the end. Were they adding period lights for SV1, then TB1?

Yeah, they've been flipping the lights on for each one.

4 = SV1
5 = TB1, part A
6 = TB1, part B

And there are only 6 lights on each scoreboard.
