AA would have to add at least 20-25 pounds to get a look at Tight End. Anyone ever heard of a 225 pound tight end??? I haven't.

Right now he would be a very big WR, but I doubt he has the speed to play that position.

wow. No. Just no. He will not get drafted unless we win 8+ games and he throws for 3000 yards.

Last season he was considered by many on this board as "Why is this guy even starting" He is not a good passer. He runs well though.

He was considered one of the worst QBs in the nation last year. Sorry, I hope he does great this season, but in all honesty, Arnaud is not an NFL QB period.

Arnaud was a successful Iowa State Cyclone QB. And thats about it. You realize only about 4 or 5 QBs are drafted into the NFL each year right? Do you think Arnaud will be better than 110 other D-1 QBs in the country next season?

FWIW, note that I (and i think most of the other people in this thread) put a LOT of qualifiers on Arnaud making it.

not trying to be snippy or condescending, but this statement simply has no merit at this point. simply being big does not make you a TE/H-Back. simply because he is big and athletic does not mean he can block anybody OR catch passes, especially against NFL players. could it happen? sure, but this is one of the bolder statements i've seen on here. right up there with bo williams being the most talented RB on our roster based on nothing alone. again, don't take it personal but this is some serious conjecture.

Have I said this is anything but conjecture? A lot of QBs turn out to be good catching the ball. Obviously, he'd have to show he can do this, but I guarantee he runs a good route. He's a big, physical player, who relishes contact. He can be taught to block. He's built like a full back.

The's are all legitimate actual reasons which suggest he could possibly be utilized in this fashion at the next level.

Am I saying this will happen? Nope. Not at all. I'm saying this COULD happen. Big, big difference.

you are quite literally insane
possibly. but i'll reiterate for you. If arnaud stops completing passes right into the db's hands and into his receivers, hits 50/50 passes at ISU's 2011 pro day, somehow runs a sub 4.5 40, and throws for 3000 yds and 30 tds this season, then he will be drafted.

The OP's point was that Arnaud has the tangible numbers to possibly be an NFL qb.

Yup. What he does in the season will be almost irrelevant. The NFL doesn't give a damn if a guy was any good in college, as long as he has a good pro day. See: Matt Cassel. Did that guy even start a game?? Arnaud could throw for 5,500 yards and not get drafted if his Pro Day sucks (like the TTech guys). If he wows the scouts on Pro Day, he'll go. If he doesn't, he won't. The evidence suggests that he probably won't, but he has the physical tools to do it.

I know. it's almost like I'm joking about the whole thing  I honestly don't think he'll be an NFL QB, but do agree he has the height and build to be one. The other stuff? who knows.

What the hell does how many games we win have to do with where AA will get drafted? The two don't have to go together.

What the hell are you talking about? There were 11 QB's drafted last year and many more signed after the draft.

ok my bad. do you think arnaud is a top 50 QB in the nation? I don't. Hes a cyclone and I love to see him succeed, but he was the 3rd best QB in Iowa last season. Apparently Im coming across as the negative nancy in this thread, but really- 1900 passing yards last year in a spread offense? If he completes the easy ones next year he should easily have 3500 yards.

Sure he was hurt... sure he threw for 3000 yards as a sophomore in games we were down by 3 TDs... point is, he doesnt have the arm to be a QB in the NFL. Sorry if I got my numbers wrong.

Winning games and going to bowl games is a part Arnauds legacy. It does matter-- for being drafted. Do you think vince young got drafted because hes so smart? Such an accurate passer?

There's a difference between sucking and playing injured the entire season - learn it...

How many NFL scouts do you think watch enough Iowa State games to know this? Do you know scouts prefer prospects from Pro Style offenses? If we never switched to the spread it would be a whole different story. But at the same time it would be harder for him to look good because the spread offense makes you look a lot better than you really are and pads your stats. -learn it.
