I make the best fried chicken this side of my Grammaw's kitchen. But if I gave you the recipe, I'd have to kill you.
How about some strategies. Because usually what I will do is cover some chicken in flower, and then fry it in a frying pan in some oil. Or I will take the chicken in flower, then egg, and then some bread crumbs. I'm wondering if I need to add more oil or if I need to add something like baking powder or something like that.
Is the franchisee for Popeye's in Iowa an ISU alum? I think I read that somewhere.

If I had to guess, I'd say if was your use of daisies as a powder coat that is ruining it.

Can't remember if Starbucks (no not the coffee chain) in Nevada has fried chicken, everything else there is awesome so if they have fried chicken i'm sure it's good.

The best fried chicken I've ever made is Thomas Keller's Ad Hoc Fried Chicken Recipe. It is very labor intensive, but boy is it good! Thomas Keller's Ad Hoc restraurant is in California and serves this chicken every other Monday.
There is a place in Illinois called Rips Tavern in Ladd... Best chicken on earth. They have fried pickle slices, they bring out baskets of the fried chicken breading like Long John Silvers.
No silverware, no plates... Eat with your hands and damn cheap beer... Great place.
It's right across from Bob Brown Chevy, and there is also a Popeyes next to Carlos O'Kellys on SE 14th.
Does Amish country in Iowa have good fried chicken? I know the Amish area in Illinois has some great chicken.
If the Amana Colonies count as Amish, then yes. The Ox Yoke right of I-80 has fantastic fried chicken.
Man I love that place. Used to have a family Christmas in the amanas every year and I would just destroy breakfast at that place. But nothing comes close to the 8 pork chops and three bowls of sauerkraut I ate at the Colony Inn for our Christmas party. Ah the memories.
I like Bojangles, deal with it. I also like Andy's cheesesteaks, and Wilburs BBQ in Clayton. And Waffle House.
