Depends..... (on who you listen to)

couldn't resist KG

I think that anyone who says things have gone in a positive direction at any point after (maybe) year 1 of the McD era is just crazy and denying the facts.

We have never won more than 15 games with McD.
We have never been even close to a winning record in the Big 12.
We have lost player after player for various, vague reasons, many of which have turned out to not be true.
We have lost dozens of close games to teams we should have beaten, as well as blowouts that we should have contended in.
We have won 1 game that we shouldn't have against any team of consequence, this year v. K-State. Even more frustrating is that just showed what the team was capable of doing, this "best" team in years.
Our style of play has been extremely stagnant, and very few times has a player or the team overachieved. Most of the time, we've played much below our potential.
We have never won a Big 12 tournament game.
We had the most home losses in Hilton history EVER this year.
And, as someone pointed out, we are the only BCS conference team to play in ZERO postseason games of any type in the last 5 years.

The ONLY BCS conference school.

If someone wants to defend that, go ahead.

I heard Lebron was so annoyed at the hype surrounding his upcoming free agency that he petitioned the NCAA for his college eligibility back. He will enroll for the summer session at ISU. I've been told not to share this info, however.

Snowazn3.0.... you have betrayed the brotherhood. The penalty for that is.....

It is this generation of kids that are responsible!

I'm in that generation of kids, and I'll tell you right now: cut it out. When people look back on the past, they tend look at it in a brighter light than what actually happened. I work multiple jobs to help pay to put myself through school, and the vast majority of people that I know in "this generation of kids" do the same thing. Now, if you mean people aren't as prone to letting themselves get run over by overbearing leaders/bosses/coaches, then maybe yes. Kids might expect a little bit more from their leaders now than in the past, but is that a bad thing? I would think that a lesson we've learned from our past, from things like corporal punishment in schools or not allowing kids to talk until they are spoken to, would be that some of these things needed to change. A lot of people making this argument claim that they want kids to be more independent, but then when players decide to transfer from Iowa State because they think they can do more for themselves somewhere else, that's not OK.

Life is short, and the chances to play basketball at a competitive level for these players are very limited. They have a short window to try and get better to prove themselves if they want to play professionally. Do I like our transfers? No. Do I like the reasons given for our transfers? No. But, do I think players have the right to transfer if they think it will improve their situation? Yes. You shouldn't have to suffer through something if it is preventable. Maybe they could have been more picky in choosing to come to ISU, yes. However, that doesn't change where they are now, and what that situation is, and you can't change the past. You can only live in the present.

Not the way McDermott coaches - BronBron will be benched the first time he tries to push a fast break...
Oh I didn't mention this? my other source confirms that lebron will be paying McD's 2.5 million buyout and serve as a player-coach for his 4 years here.

The state of the program is now truly in better hands than most would believe.
