No, we gave up a coach with experience for a coach who as never coached a game at any level short of his kids kindergarten league.

At this point I think anyone would be better than Mac. ISU basketball was a sinking ship. I'd rather have a huge question mark than a proven failure

From a coaching perspective no, but we all see where that got us over the last 4 years. I think the total package (recruiting/coaching/player retention/etc) will be better.

To go off of McKnight and Boozer's comments, player relations will definitely improve. Hopefully that translates into better team basketball

Short run.. yes. All hope was gone with GMac and that was obviously having a major effect on recruiting. At that point an inanimate carbon rod was a better option than keeping GMac around.

Long run... once the shine of a former cyclone great coaching here wears off, we could end up even deeper in the hole if he doesnt work out. Every year farther we get from those championships the harder it will be to rebuild this program.

The ultimate question is this just a jolt of caffeine to the system or will it work out for many years. I hope its the latter.

Still up in the air. But in the long-term, I think yes. Fred will have time to turn this around, while Mac's time ws running out. Short-term, if we can keep the recruits and our current players, we're certainly no worse off with Fred than with Mac. And like you said, we have hope and excitement again.

this is a gigantic upgrade! Two years from now you will understand.
Accually you will understand when you see our recruiting class this fall and
how our current players are responding in the fall.

I wish I had kept my tickets when Jamie fired morgan.
