This.

He is the very definition of sour grapes.

If I am an NBA player, I might be hesitant to go there with that kind of child like owner.

This.

If he wanted to keep LeBron in Cleveland, he should have tried harder.

Yeah they could have released West had 13 million in cap space and gone after someone to play there not basically hoping Lebron could recruit someone

I think Gilberts behavior would only rub LeBron James the wrong way. Gilbert offered him more $$ than any other team could offer and LeBron chose to make the smart move and go win a championship to build up his "King James" image. The remaining mid-level NBA free agents will be running to Cleveland in the next couple of weeks so they can make top dollar in hopes to make the Cavs contenders again. Gilbert said himself that he wants the Cavs to win a ring before the Heat, and I'm willing to bet he'll pay top-dollar for whatever he can get.

His acctions were very similar to many people on this message board after Harrison Barnes announced.

and if you look back, you'll see that I disagreed with those reactions as well.

I think Jordan's 23 is retired in Miami. Maybe LeBron already decided last year when he requested the number change?

Dan Gilbert might be my new favorite owner. Is it better to act sophisticated like it's no big deal that his franchise just walked out the door on national TV or go along with his fan base and show that he's with them?

If he dead panned it they would be crucifying him in Cleveland right now.

So he's Mark Cuban 2.0?

So many people are set that Miami is going to win the next 5 championships. They still need to fill a roster with a bunch of minimum guys. The Big 3 will log so many minutes throughout the regular season and put a lot of wear and tear on their bodies. They are probably the favorites going into next year but I wouldn't be handing them any championships quite yet.

Pretty sure the wild Russian (Not going to attempt to spell his name) that bought the Nets (Nyets) takes the Cuban 2.0. Gilbert could very easily become his own brand of nuts, which is great, I love some added flavor.

And this alone is great marketing. I have very little interest in the NBA but I'm sure I'll tune in a few times to see how this all works out. Part of me would like to see it fail. I like the underdogs (hence Cyclone fan and Cubs fan).

Wade has a very tough time staying healthy...this quickly can turn into the Big 2....

And when did Bosh become a major NBA star? He puts up decent numbers, but he is 6'10", 230, not a great defender or rebounder. You still need interior defense and boards to win a title, what minimum salary player will get you that? If Dwight Howard would get even a slight mean streak, he will give this team fits. A bunch of Larry O'B trophies in Miami is far from a done deal.
