And the italian place that's in the strip mall with Cafe Shi...name escapes me, but I remember it being good.
Is it DiAngelo's, or something like that?

Any thoughts on how the place is for kids? I'm a little worried about taking the kids to a place like that because they're kind of loud and messy.

Ge-Angelo's. And yes they are a decent option, especially for pizza.

GeAngelos is very good...I ate there several times when I lived in Ames. Luccillans didn't do anything for me, I wasn't impressed with the food
Mmmm, Steak De-Burgo (or however they spelled it)Well, this catches me off-guard; I didn't know The Broiler had shut down. Good grief, the place had been a fixture in Ames well before me and my parents moved to Ames in '63. The same family owned the restaurant, IIRC, for two generations at least. I'm glad someone bought the building and is taking over the same niche. Me and my wife ate there, when it was The Broiler, for New Years Eve dinner a number of years.
