I think there is way more issues than an ankle sprain with Martinez.

IMO, who plays at QB is an impact, but is not as big of a deal as some may think. We need to somehow wins some battles in the trenches. And our offense needs to play well. The play of our offense really is not linked to who they have playing QB.

And our offense has been the achilles heel on the season so far.

totally agree. Additionally, the Husker offense moved the ball easily on us last year w/ Lee at QB. They just happened to drop it a lot before scoring.

The only thing Nebraska loses if they cannot play Martinez is the big play ability from two people in the backfield. With Martinez it leads to both he and Helu able to rip off that long run at anytime. Without Martinez it makes it very likely it will be Helu who rips one off with the small chance Green does as well.

It makes gameplanning easier but it will not change the fact that Nebraska pushed us around last year early and will likely do the same this year. They will get their yards but likely have less potential to get a score with a long run.

Has anyone checked the current Las Vegas lines on this game? I would think if someone had some inside info it would affect the line, moving it toward the good guys.

I haven't followed it *too* closely but I believe it opened at +19.5 for the good guys and is now down to +17.5 or 18 depending on where you look.

Yeah it looks like some of the Nebraska poster are posting info from team members that it will be Green will be the man tomorrow. They still aren't worried though.

It'll be interesting. Sure, we likely won't get the gifts we got last year (although they weren't all gifts), but we also should be better off offensively. Nebraska's D isn't as good and we are healthier. Plus, I think we are better up front this year than we were last year. At least I hope so.

I think we can all agree, if Nebraska and Iowa State both play at the top of their games, Nebraska wins. If they both play an average game, Nebraska wins. Hopefully ISU can play just a little bit better game than Nebraska does.

Maybe the ankle injury is one of those that it really needs another week to heal or otherwise you risk a major setback with a big hit.

Cody Green at qb is my preference. He is a load but he sometimes tries too hard.

Heft was on 1700 am over the lunch hour and made a nice point.
State forced 7 of those 8 TOs and if the rolls were reversed we'd
still be hearing about the Blackshirt's dominance.

It started at 17/17.5 and quickly moved to 19.5 as the early money was all on NU.

No matter who starts it's going to be a very tough game...time to put up or shut up.

Hello from huskerland!! It is confirmed Zac is out had a MRI on his shoulder. Martinez is a gametime decision but all signs are pointing to Cody starting. Good luck!! See you at the game

The Husker boards are still claiming that guys on the team say that Lee is out and Martinez is out barring a miraculous recovery tommorow. I don't believe it, but who knows. It would be nice if we don't have to put two guys on their QB though.

Exactly. I've made that point a million times. Only the Niles Paul one was luck. The others were earned.

I say we beat 'em again and then wait for the new excuses. Except that they matter even less, since we own the end of the series.
