They were saying on the TV broadcast that in overtime, the winner of the coin toss has to choose offense or defense. The choice of wind/which end to defend is not an option on the overtime coin toss.

Ahhh - thanks for the clarification.

I am so depressed right now. My heart fell out of my body and still hasn't made its way back.

Just seemed like so many guys made plays, was total team effort, that we would win...it really felt that way to me. So many guys played well, just have to get back at it. Damn, what a game, great college football game, just heartbreaking for us.

rough ending...i agree with the call, just poor execution. maybe a back up qb as the holder in the future? had the holder even thrown a ball all day?

besides how many past isu teams would have just rolled over after that 3rd quarter?

and good-bye knu....enjoy being tressels ******* now

The way the offense had played in the 4th quarter I think you should just go for it with your best set of offensive personnel on the field. Arnaud is your team leader let him decide the fate of the game.

I'm not saying that it was a bad call, I just would have preferred an alternate one.
I agree. If you're going to go for 2 in that situation, run your best offense personnel out there.

I absolutely LOVE the play call...it's just soooo upsetting that it doesn't work out when there was such a good look to win the game...we worked our ***** off this game and deserved to win, but that's football...let's go out and kick colorado's *** next week to get that bowl eligibility

That was such a great call and such a weak pass. I think he thought he was wide open and didn't want to overthrow him. It looked like he was throwing darts instead of a football.

So Iowa State loses. But I'd rather barely lose to Nebraska than barely beat Indiana.

Apparently I'm in the minority here but I thought our playcalling, not just the fake XP, was what lost us the game. I can only remember one 3rd down play all game that we had a receiver running a route past the 1st down marker. And Arnaud threw a pick on that play. We should have used the wind to our advantage and gone for the win at the end of the game. We should have considered the wind and the fact that we were leaving the ball in the hands of a backup kicker when we tried the fake FG. I am very proud of this team and the game but this one feels like a giveaway.

IT was a great call, the execution just wasn't quite there. Without the wind, it's a touchdown, with the wind, and a little more zip behind the ball, it's a TD. I complained for too many years when Mac was here about us not trying to win the game. Rhoads tried to win the game today. This team played balls out and came up 2 points short of beating the #7 team in the country. I have no doubt we will be bowling this year. I love this team and this coach.

Bruns on the radio,,,,24 first downs to 15 for Neb....Clones really did dominate the game for most of the game

We lost it when we had two possessions to score and go ahead when it was tied with the ball at midfield and the win and failed to score. Could have put them away.

We put up 30 points against the blackshirts. ONLY OSU has done that and they have the most explosive offense in the big 12. Our play calling was not the issue.
