If you listen to Randy Peterson, Rhoads wont get a raise until season ticket sales increase.

I dont know what to think about this week against CU. You wonder if Cody will also be on his way out tomorrow.

Peterson mentions that a lot, but it is a very valid point. With only 33k in season ticketholders there is only so much guaranteed revenue coming in for Rhoads and his assistants. If we had another 10k season ticketholders we'd have a lot more money to toss around.

A likely indicator on how much fans out there care: the story has been posted on that news web site for over an hour and a half and has a total of 0 comments attached to it....

I would say run up the score if we have the chance since it's the last time we play them in the foreseeable future, but I say no even if we could. Let's keep people healthy and get backups some good reps. I do hope we have that luxury in the 3rd Quarter of the game.

I was kind of hoping we'd be the ones that would get to put the final nail in his coffin.

As for Cody, is he a fourth or fifth year senior? Either way, I don't think he'll quit on his teammates. If he's a fifth year senior, I give it a .5 percent chance he quits. If he's a fourth year, I give it a 0 percent chance.

BAD news. How many times do teams rally?... For two reasons: Either they hate the guy and will be incredibly relieved when the door hits his *** on the way out, or: they love the guy and will send him out as a winner.. ie: Dan Mac

I don't like that firing at all. at all.

^ Orrrrrr the team comes out with a given up attitude in front of what should be a small, lifeless crowd. Goes both ways. If we gameplan and prepare with a steady mindset, we should win this game regardless of how Colorado plays.

I don't get the need to increase ticket sales beyond what they are to get a raise. The Nebraska game alone should have netted the school some serious coin.

Attendance = 51139
Typical attendance = ~40000
Difference = 11139
Ticket price = $90
Increased revenue by selling out Nebraska game = $1,002,510

I think Pollard would be able to find a raise somewhere in that money. Also, the ABC broadcast should have added some TV revenue to the pots. That's money that wouldn't have been there if the team had not been over-performing for the second straight year. I don't know if he'll get up to $2 mil, but I would think that he'd get something after this year. Otherwise, it may be hard to keep him in the future if we don't keep him happy now.

Dan Hawkins Out At CU - cbs4denver.com

Good or bad for us on Saturday? I say good, I think our defense wins us this game like last year.

I hadn't heard about this until I read the post and haven't checked responses to it. I went to ESPN site and it said there's an interim coach.

I don't like this at all — if anything about the impending coaching change was affecting the team, then CU might play with a "what the hell" approach. These are the types of situations that has dogged ISU in the past (can't think of examples, but I've been a fan long enough to know a gut feeling when I see one — sorry for the mixture of senses there :twitcy:)

Conversely, I don't think Rhoads will let the team lolly-gag into this one, regardless.

Do we really need a new softball complex a half a mile from where there is a perfectly nice one? Give that money to Rhoads and his coaching staff!!! If Rhoads gets away because of money, and Pollard is spending $10 mill on non-revenue sports complex, I don't even want to go there.

Beat the Fluffalos!

I get a bad feeling about it for us. Im torn though. On the one hand I think we have a good shot to get the W amidst the confusion of the change, but on the other hand I get the feeling jr. hawkins might just put up the game of his life as a result possibly. I just hope CPR can light a fire under the team for this one coming off the heartbreaker on saturday.

This is the wrong thread for this but I'll respond anyway...our typical attendance has been closer to 46,000 than 40,000.
