Des Moines radio can't have too many Omaha failures. Bring em all on.

No kidding. Apparently it's a reverse AAA, they keep getting sent down to the minors here in Des Moines.

I agree with cybsball, I don't know how they can do a good show not even in the same city, let alone not living here to get the pulse of the fans. Frankly I think it says a lot about his opinion of the job that he won't go to Des Moines for it. Maybe the pay really does suck and he doesn't want to commit to anything.

Fischer is also a huge Hawkeye fan... I beleive he spent his show telling why he thinks Iowa will go to the BCS. He also spent a half hour teasing his epic take on why Boise State is no good and totally flopped on it. It will be interesting to see if it works with Justice in Omaha, not sure how he can keep his finger on the local pulse.

I was pulling for the Sports Freaks.

Aren't they both Hawks as well? I did like them more than the Fischer/Justice though.

Tim is a Hawk fan, I believe. Travis seems like a guy who likes to take chances, so it isn't surprising that he liked the play call at the end of the game.

Listening to the show for the first time. Better than I expected, thus far.

Wish I could say the same. I listened from 6:30 to 7 and one sounds like a Husker (ISU was lucky to be in the game) and the other just wanted to try to make an issue of the 2pt conversion. They weren't prepared at all they wanted a sound bite from CPR and kept complaining about the buffering - what a couple of morons have they ever done radio before - do they not prepare before they go on the air?

Not much for me on that show - I might try it again in a couple of weeks to see if it has improved but for now I'm back to 1700.

Tim's fake radio voice is annoying.
Been on the sideline of a couple HS football games
where he was doing Friday Night Blitz Extra.
After a while you want to find as much distance as possible.
(like in the press box)

I've listened a couple of times and it's not good. The lack of show prep is obvious. Just two guys who open the mike and start BS'ing about sports, no different than Bill and Bob in the break room at work. And very awkward and clumsy. Won't last long. Get your audition tapes ready again!

We are all jealous of Iowa fans.

I don't understand why one fanbase thinks another is jealous of them. if I was jealous of Iowa fans I would just become an Iowa fan. Problem solved.

No, I'm not listening. Just responding to your post.

Don't listen to that that station anymore, except Keith and Andy if I happen to be in the car between 2 and 4

This is exactly where I am at. I will listen to Dan Patrick in the morning occasionally and Murph and Andy in the afternoon. Tried listening to the new morning show but it is just awful so 20 minutes and I was done with that show for good. Rome is just annoying and i would rather smash my balls with a rubber mallett than listen to giggles and his idiotic views.

But for the most part i am on 1700 minus the Martha show or just listening to pandora or my ipod etc.

With the exception of Murph and Andy it is really pathetic with how bad local sports radio is here.

When Hawk fans approach ISU fans from the standpoint that we are "little brother", and wonder why we hate them, it's funny how stupid or disingenuous they are.

I would say that except for a few, most Cyclone fans respect Iowa's team and coaches for what they bring to the field. It's their bandwagon fans we hate and their arrogance.

The times that I put myself out there and cheered for Iowa (when they aren't playing us) I was rewarded with the hawk fans around me still slamming ISU.

In-state rivals hating each other isn't news, but it sure seems like it if you listen to KXNO
