So according to the blogger, the people at Iowa State never said anything about money means we offered $25,000? This scumbag came to us because he knew we were in process of hiring 3 new assistants, when we heard what we wanted and didn't hire him obviously, he got upset because he sucks.

It seems to me like a logical explanation for ALL of this is that this assistant coach knew we had a new staff, knew we needed players, and used his relationship with this recruit to try to leverage a spot on the coaching staff. It would not be entirely unprecedented to hire an assistant coach with good ties to the AAU circuit, so perhaps they interviewed this individual, but decided that it was too much of a "pay-for-play" situation, didn't hire the coach, didn't further recruit the individual, and perhaps even self-reported the situation. Nothing ever came to fruition, and Chris and the mods are trying to prevent the spread of baseless claims by deleting threads...

Is this something that hawk fans created to explain moronic behavior??

I noticed that I left out "speech" almost right after I posted it.......should have proof read....oh well....it lends a bit of irony to my post anyway.

Thanks for your posts everyone. I apologize for CF deleting any threads on this topic that have surfaced up to now. It was in no way a "conspiracy theory" or anything like that. During that time, I was doing my due diligence to see if there was any truth to these claims at all. From what I have been able to gather, this story simply is not true. This thread will not be deleted so feel free to discuss. Thanks for understanding.

Thanks for clearing it up it just seemed a little fishy to me and I posted it to see others take on it and see if it was true or not.

Have any reputable news sources picked up this story? It doesn't sound very credible when the source of his story doesn't even know what coference ISU is in.

This seems like the most likely scenario. Coach goes trolling looking for money for a recruit, ISU doesn't bite, coach moves on.
