Please hit the five claps at the beginning of the opposing line up on beat! I drummed for 4 years, (or at least tried to) and I know I can do a better job on those 5 hits than he has been doing....as for the other drumming he does, I couldn't even compete. But seriously man, get it right!

I'm happy to report that the volleyball pep band drummer was on beat last night and inspired the team to victory. On a side note there was about the same number of students at the vb game as Sunday's MBB.

I did notice that they added a bass guitar this year. Can we request more cowbell too? Gotta have more cowbell!

I talked to my source inside the band department, and he told me that the drummer is still nursing that hamstring a little, and that due to the ADD, sometimes he gets a little ahead of the rest of the band. Said these problems can and will be fixed, just give the kid some time.

Just some information regarding pep band drummers:
There are 4 total drummers (2 returning and 2 new)
There is a rotation of different drummers at every game

This is why I really would like a free program at every game, with names and pictures. I can't be expected to know who's playing if you keep changing personnel on me. At least can you put a still shot on the video board of the current player with his latest stats?

She does, but expecting HB to stay and play in Ames is a pipe dream at best. He's the number one drummer in the nation-on chimes, timpani, and trap set. We just don't have the pep band facilities or national exposure to really compete for that kind of talent.
Of course, you realize, that if Harrison committed to us, he would likely drop from a 5 star to a 4, maybe even an upper 3 star recruit.

According to zildjian.recruits.com, HB is rated:
94 on timpani
97 on chimes
99 on trap set

Also, pearl.recruits.com and premier.rankings.com both have Barnes listed at a 104 on trap set, which I didn't think was even possible, but I trust these two sites on this issue. Especially if they've seen him play in person, as I have not. They also update the player's profiles regularly, unlike other sites.

However, even these reputable sites are likely to drop his rankings into the low 90s - upper 80s if he commits to us. We just have to get over it.

Wow! We have 4 drummers in the rotation? I know it might not seem like it now, but in a couple years we are going to be a national drumming powerhouse.

Having 4 drummers is a very good problem to have. They are all beat-makers and all bring many different elements to the band.

But the Yamaha recruit site (which sponsors ISU Groove) only had him rated at an overall 95.

Christopherson -- sure he had a decent game. However, my game ball goes to the Pep Band. They absolutely dominated tonight! The drummer was right on beat; hell the entire percussion section brought it. Best pep band performance I've seen since the 1999-2000 season!

Being a drummer I can sympathize with this drummer. When you're put into a situation where you don't have very much experience with songs it is very hard. And the fact that there are 150 songs in the book makes that even harder. When you have to play a song that you don't know or don't know the version of it's not that easy.

And honestly is it really that hard for you to do the 5 claps a little faster. I've been at all of the game this weekend and they seemed fine. A few hiccups here and there but that can be expected with inexperience. So to those of you who have nothing better to do with your time than to cut down drummers on an athletic site it's time to get over yourself.

I'm not sure you're catching the rampant sarcasm through this thread.......

P.S. It would help if the jerseys had numbers AND names.
