*****Iowa State to wear GOLD jersey's*****

Just got this message sent to me

Than I got a message that Christopherson and JVB hate the Gold jerseys and are refusing to wear them so they are wearing the cardinal jerseys. It's going to be really confusing watching the game

We'll win! It's obvious that KU players will keep accidentally passing the ball to JVB and Scott since they will be wearing red.

How about Texas A&M when they did the Red, White, and Blue out as a sign of respect after September 11th? Sometimes the moment is just bigger then individual fans and people want to be a part of something special... something that looks awesome, and shows the passion their fanbase has....

I had never seen this. Badass is right! I can't believe that they copied Iowa though.

I agree it could be special. But then make it special. Put it on all the tickets. Maybe send out a media release prior to the day of the game and ask that the media print PRIOR to game day.

I would have gladly worn gold if I was aware. As it is now, I am going to the game straight from work and can't get to the gold shirt store. I apoligize to everyone for all the recruits we will lose as a result of an unsucessful gold out. My bad.

Honestly... it would be impossible to think that every single fan in attendance to the game will wear gold. Should you have to leave work early to head to the "gold shirt store"? No. Do I think you are a horrible fan or not a "real" fan because you won't be wearing Gold tonight? No. I like the idea for a Golden Rules game. It is just something fun to participate in and pulls the fanbase together for a big game... gives them a little something extra to be excited about is all. To your point... yes they do need to do a better job of getting the word out. I have an ISU basketball poster with the schedule on the cubicle wall at work behind me.... it says right next to the Kansas game (Gold Rules). That isn't quite enough to get the job done... they need to sell this thing and keep talking about it to make it happen on a larger scale.

Obvious solutions to this problem:

1) CycloneFanatic/Wilson Toyota present ISU MBB Sombrero Night.

2) Shirtless Rules Night

No i cant, my wife says i look fat in both gold and shirtless. After all i need to look my best when going to a basketball game

If you are going to do a color-out game, the best idea is to do like A&M did and make it easy for the fans. The students that put it together sold tons of shirts for $5 each at the game, donating all the profits (about $150k ive read) to NYFD charities.

I wont deny that it, or any other color-out looks pretty cool.

(though it is at TAMU... the cult there would dress up in just about anything as long as you convinced them it was some sort of tradition)

The funny thing is, as much flak as ive taken in this thread, and while i still think the 'gold rules' thing is a bad idea.... im wearing the gold (or rather yellow since they dont sell too many gold shirts) shirt that i'll be wearing tonight right now. Funny how many assumed that just because i thought it was a bad idea by the AD that I wouldnt be doing it and bashed me for it.

I didn't bash you. Honestly... Nobody on here probably really cares what anyone wears to the game. It is just a chance for the fans to in a way become a part of the game and I know a lot of fans want it to look awesome and possibly look even better on Sportscenter if ISU can pull off a shocker and kick Bill Self and his posse of thugs right in the junk.

The atmosphere should be electric at Hilton tonight regardless.

Not wearing gold isn't the problem under the circumstances. ******** about it is.

Good grief, sometimes you fools are crabby. Our colors are cardinal and gold. If you don't have a gold shirt then buy one or two. If you don't want to participate, don't. But it does look cool on TV and 'Golden Rules' is kind of a cool play on words. NOT EVERYTHING HAS TO SASTISFY YOU AS A FAN.

I am missing the game tonight because of a work trip. I would wear a gold shirt if I could be there tonight!

I object to your avatar. The background is clearly not printed on ISU's "primary" color. It needs to be cardinal on cardinal, with dark cardinal trim, and a cardinal fringe. Please make the necessary changes. :jimlad:

I bashed you, but not for that. Plus, I know you, and anything I said to you here I would have said to your face (since, being people who know each other, I essentially was doing that anyway).

The Gold Rules thing is on tickets, on channel 5 commercial, on Cyclones.com, been mentioned on KXNO many times, and on CF...

Damn... They need to do more advertising???

My wife 8 months pregnant is squeezing herself into a gold shirt. And she isn't a Cyclone grad or that big of fan.

Amazing how real fans can't man up. Sad, Pathetic, and funny all in one.

Tornadoman... You **** and moan more then anyone I have ever seen. Oh... And If you think I'm just being a tough guy, come see me up in the balcony section 215 row 14 seat 1. You will see 4 people with gold on, ready to cheer and have fun. I'll even give you a shirt you tight ***

I am wearing purple tonight because I REFUSE to be apart of anything that looks cool on tv and could spark a little hilton magic

Make sure you find the purple spec sitting in the student section.
