Heaven forbid people do it to support the theme, help honor Johnny, look great on nat'l TV. This thread shows why a portion of this fanbase won't let something like this be successful. Gosh, I can't understand why the Magic is missing...

I swear to God our fanbase will do anything to not make an extra effort. If you told them it was Cardinal rules, they would say "Don't tell me WTF to wear, I don't even know if I own a Cardinal shirt." It's pathetic really. Suck it up, buy a shirt and fit in. Maybe even cheer while your there, that is, if it isn't too much to ask.

Don't be fooled. That's just a silly excuse. I have about 5 of them too and I probably paid about $10 for each of them. It's not like their actually made out of gold. Maybe that's the issue, people think it's actually gold.

She was sitting in the row in front of me and in fact DID have a gold t-shirt on over her other I-State shirt. She took the gold one off before she shot the free throws because it was hotter than hell in the balcony last night. She was from Kansas but was an Iowa State fan. Her friend sitting next to her was actually picked to shoot but was wearing blue KU gear. When the girl from ISU came up to see who won she made it known she couldn't go on the court wearing that blue stuff, so the other girl took her place.
