Cyclone Alley is to structured. For the D-bags out there this team works their *** off every game and if you cannot see that and the fact we have the shortest bench that we have had in a long time then **** off.

Hard to critisize the fans, A&M drew 7,000 and even the announcers were getting on them. We draw great crowds for being 12th in the conference.
Our crowds are just fine CA is not in the right area to be effective, but to say the effort is not there is incorrect.
A few observations from afar... I'm not here to exclusively rip on CA, I like that so many students still show up with the record ISU has, especially in conference. But here is what I see on TV/ESPN3... everyone looks the same (clones?) as if you're commanded what to wear/how to act. The last couple games I've seen ridiculous hats or something on everyone's heads? what again was that all about?
I compare that with seeing the Grateful Red at the Kohl Center vs. OSU last weekend, where Badger fans wear various outfits, costumes, hats, body paint, etc.. and everyone seems to go berserk in their own unique way (like ISU students did when the sections were scattered around Hilton). Creativity/spontaneity can't be forced, yet through the TV that's what CA looks like.
and not that ISU should copy this, but I saw the Interlude Dance at the McLeod Center last night on ESPN, and that looked great! It's disappointing to read that the ISU students couldn't jump around when Jump Around played. As Andy Fales once said about lifeless Drake fans... sit on a tack or tickle your nipple, people!

I think next year you will see the student section fill up its allotment most of the time in the lower decks and could fill the upper deck for games against ranked opponents. Students more than I think any other part of the fan base will stop going if the wins stop coming.
Exactly. Well they didnt actually show up during hte last season we went to the NCAAs. The upper deck section has been empty since the creation of CA.
Maybe it's too hard to read the signs from up there, and they feel left out because they don't know what to do during opponent's free throws?
While this is true, the dilemma here is that those tickets are actually sold; they are just sold to students that for one reason or another never wanted them to begin with or just thought it was a neat idea to waste money on and they make it to one or two games the entire year.
So, how is cyclone alley too structured? other than the fact that you have to wear or just bring your cyclone alley shirt with you. Please, I would love to hear some responses from you guys! :SLEEP:
I agree with ending the props. They are stupid and worthless.
Attendance as a whole has held up great this year considering our record. I was shocked by the crowd against KSU last week. And I'll admit CA attendance left a lot to be desired yesterday and just this season in general. But, I don't quite get the constant criticism of the students.
I became an ISU basketball fan when McDermott was hired (not the greatest timing...). In these five years as a Cyclone bball fan, I've seen ZERO home wins over ranked teams. I've seen ONE win total over a ranked team. ZERO conference tournament wins. ZERO winning seasons. ZERO post-season appearances. I'm in my second year as a student, and I've seen just THREE home conference wins. And I've seen a LOT of bad losses and should-have-won games. Basically, there has been nothing to get too excited about. We have been really bad for a long time now.
The same goes for most of the other students today. With some exceptions, most of us didn't grow up paying close attention to ISU sports back when Hilton Magic was something real, back when we were winning championships. All we know is losing, usually in the most painful ways imaginable.
So it's absolutely amazing we have the student support that we do, especially on our current losing streak. Once we start consistently winning games at home (hopefully starting next year), especially big games against ranked teams, the non-lunatic fringe students (and non-students too) will start coming to to games more and will get more involved. The only way to fix things is to win, and to rebuild the culture of expecting to win at home, no matter the opponent.

CA just seems to have a "you have to cheer exactly how we want you to or you are not a real fan" type attitude that is very off-putting to many people.
Are you a student? because I don't think the majority of the students feel that way. Heck, I swear at the refs and cheer my *** off all the time, as to many other students who wait in line for the doors to open. How do you explain this "attitude"?? because I don't sense it.
Yes, I am a student. I didn't say you didn't care, but the attitude of seems a bit patronizing. You probably don't see it because you don't have an outside perspective, but that is how it appears to others.
