I have to say I agree with the writer for the most part. I'm glad ISU stayed in the Big XII, but I'm not happy at all with the extent of Texas' control of the league. To have a conference game on the Longhorn Network is a joke.

There are alot of people out to get Texas so any chance to turn a non story like this into something that could cause turmoil will be taken by those folks just to try and stir the pot.

How many of us would be up in arms though, if Texas chooses to air an ISU game exclusively on the bevo news network?

It could only happen this season and never after. And even if it does Longhorn probably doesn't won't have that much less distribution than Fox College Sports does. The difference in coverage this year would be negligible and then infinitely better every year after. What exactly is there that people need to have their panties in a bunch over?

I'm guessing this will be addressed during the next round of negotiations. When I first read about it, I thought they purchased a game from FSN. This article sounds as though it will be an ABC game that gets moved and they just got permission from FSN to put it on cable. That would mean that it could be any game, home or away and probably be a bigger game than originally thought if ABC is going to give one up.

Isn't this a complete non-issue after 2012?

Also, SO WHAT if Texas has a ton of control? Missouri is still making way more money than it could in the Big East, the only other BCS conference that would take it.

I guess I don't see why Texas's control matter as long as we're all getting paid and they don't have any special rules (which they don't).

Besides, if they beat the storming bevos on BNN, they will do infinitely better at recruiting in Tejas next year.

I think the idea is that ESPN is selling itself (The longhorn network) one their own ABC affiliated games in order to leverage more people to get the Longhorn Network. I could be very wrong though.

Who cares where the conference game is broadcast?

A few years ago, we saw conference games not broadcast at all. If it is on TV, who cares.

Here's a simple solution - just turn on the TV, turn the volume down, turn the radio up... problem solved (if you don't mind a few second delay on audio).

Yes and exactly. Everyone wants to get all bent out of shape but after 2012 this won't happen again. It's kind of like dating the hottest girl in the world. She may have all the control in the relationship but the benefits we are getting out of the deal, not to mention future perception of ourselves is much better this way than dating a below average chick.

Please tell me if I'm wrong here - if it turns out to be the ISU-Texas game that goes to the Longhorn Network that would mean I'd have to give money to Texas to watch it live??? **** that.

Won't happen, we have the say in that game.

And also, it is likely the second best game that week.

If I want a good look at a tbone, I could stick my head up Bevo's ***, but I'd rather just take coach's word on it.

I couldn't care less. Are we still making more than a year ago? Yup. Are we still in a BCS conference? Yup.
