mine would def. have to be 05 CYCLONE game vs. Colorado went Curvey ran 66 yards for a touchdown. I don't think he's ran that fast and that hard ever. That game was so much fun.

That is my favorite! He told Mac that he was watching himself on the video board and that is how he knew where the other team was! Genius!

What about the OT game in Nebraska 2 years ago. So close. Who was it that dropped the interception on the screen pass that would have sealed the deal?

Meyer taking over in the 2nd half of the bowl game from '04.

Meyer and Blythe connection for 100,000 yards at A&M in '05.

Curvey for a TD in the CU game in '05, watching himself on the digiton.

Almost anything and everything about Bowen.

Tuba Rubin, every time his name is called and the crowd follows suit.

Jon Banks, for looking horrid as a safety, converting to linebacker and doing a serviceable job.

Milan Moses and his big, gigantic heart for fighting a disease and being a lone bright spot in '06. This one tugs at my heart strings a wee bit.

And when I think of Barkema, I think of his dropped sure touchdown in the end zone in OT against Missouri in 04.

That was in 2003. But thinking of that game and the 2005 KU game (was at both) makes me physically sick to my stomach.

I remember in 2003 us students were ready to rush the field after a 1st and goal from the 3. Then the pick happened. No one left the stadium as we were all shocked. People were actually crying in the stands.

2005 wasn't AS bad but it still hurt. A lot. I was so pissed off I drank myself stupid and nearly had to go to the hospital in Kansas City due to alcohol poisoning.

I believe that was the year after he graduated.

Do you remember that after they lost to Iowa, Big Ben didn't lose again until sometime into his rookie season. So we had to listen to Iowa fan talk about how they were the last ones to defeat him. Hey, whatever.

hey, what can you say, the guy's had some luck.

No, it was 2004. We went 2-10 in 2003.

I don't understand why everyone is talking about Curvey's play. That was a great play, don't get me wrong, but isn't the thread supposed to be about this year's seniors?

I forgot about the lights out catch by Blythe. That was great.

I'm really going to miss Rubin. The way he stopped Albert Young for a 4 yard loss on the first play of the Iowa game this year really set the tone for how our defense played that game.

You know what's kinda nice, we don't have a ton of stuff to list. Now that may sound kinda odd and should be more if we would've made some plays at key times (especially in '04 and '05)...but....

We only have 2 key contributers on offense graduating with Barkema and Moses being guys that contributed, but were not key guys.

On defense, again we graduated 2 what I consider very good players for us (Bowen and Rubin) and two players that has been good (Banks and Braaskma). Berg graduates yet has not done a lot this season for us and struggled last year.

On special teams, we lose both kickers and our deep snapper, none have been impressive.

That's really it.

I loved Rubin running down guys even though he's well over 3 bills.

I loved how Banks was a team guy, switched positions, and did a solid job at LB the last 1 1/2 years.

Just love how Moses fought through his disease to be a very solid contributor to a Big 12 football team. I have no idea how hard that was. Always have a ton of respect for the guy for that.

Blythe against A&M, unbelievable game.

Meyer, 9000+ passing yards. I've had some things to say about him but he is flat out one of the classiest guys who's ever donned the uniform and he'll be in the record books for a long time.

Bowen, I love the trash talking and intensity.

I know I'm not keeping with the "positive" theme some want but I can't help but to remember these seniors as an over-hyped and under-achieving group. They had so many opportunities to do some special things here but always blew them. There were some good individual moments in there but collectively I think they disappointed when you look at the big picture of what they could have accomplished. I don't care that Meyer and Blythe leave holding some individual ISU records, they don't have much to show for it as far as success as a team on the field.

Were they really hyped up, Blythe and Meyer yes, but besides them in the fall of 2004 I don't think any other individual players were expected to be among the best ever at ISU. There was a lot of team hype for the future. Also you can't put all the blame on the seniors for the missed oppertunities in 04 and 05 as they were just frosh and soph's. They didn't put it together as they got older though as many would have been thinking a couple summers ago.

This is true. Of the group graduating, Blythe and Meyer were really the only two with a ton of hype coming in. And even then, it wasn't huge until we had a surprising '04 and Blythe was a machine that season...keep in mind there wasn't much hype at all going into that season having finished 2-10 the prior year.

I understand what Trav is saying though, especially in respect to those two guys. So much hype on them and the last couple years - didn't do nearly what was expected. I really wish that wasn't the case. All these losses from '06 and '07 would have been at least a little easier to stomach if what many felt were our two best players - played like it all four years.

Meyer might have been hyped up because he was from Iowa but he most definitely wasn't hyped up nationally or even in the midwest. I think ISU was his only big offer.
