But UT playing in the Pac 10 will automatically give A&M a boost with some top athletes. They might be intrigued by playing against the best, each and every week.

Also, you act as if A&M could never upgrade their coach. They could easily hire a very good coach that is also a great recruiter. My point is, that they have just as much "infrastructure" as say Arkansas, Auburn or South Carolina. What I mean by infrastructure is alumni base, local talent to recruit, money and facilities.

It's not like if we're talking Texas Tech or KU going to the SEC.

Although UT probably makes that analysis and has some motivation to stay put. Or not. It sounds good typing it.

I don't think A&M really cares if they are moving to a slightly more difficult conference. They've been shat on for the past 10 years by the bright orange cows in Austin and they've had enough. This isn't about who they are going to play, this is simply a big "**** you" to Texas.

I understand that they think that, but really, how is it a big **** you to Texas? How is Texas hurt by this move at all? Is Texas suddenly going to make less money because of this? Are their chances at a title game lessened? Texas is going to be fine. The big **** you part is more directed at teams like Baylor, K-State, and ISU.

I'm sure the level of competition is a concern... but you're right about the big finger to the Horns... they had their finger on the button last conference doomsday scenario... maybe they have the stones to push it this time...

Quick question: Do you think the a$m-UT rivalry continues if they split conferences?

That would be a schedule from hell considering their division.

Why have "4 conferences of relevance"???

If Big East fears getting poached as well... and the 9 other Big 12 schools are 'solid' as some are saying... we would poach as well and just broaden the Big 12 market.

BYU, (ND probably not but who knows), Cincinati, Louisville, West Virginia, Pittsburgh, TCU. Alternatives include Boise State, New Mexico, other Big East Leftovers, smaller conference schools.

Clearly if 16 team super conferences were to form... we would have a solid foundation of 9 teams to start with and would have the 'room' to work with rivalries and 'package deal' teams.

With our first tier rights coming up... I think we're a good option for other teams... especially considering every non-Texas addition would just make our conference a bigger footprint.

Why is it that when schools are given the chance to partner with Texas or venture into the unknown, they take the unknown? (NU, A&M, Arkansas). At what point does UT look at themselves and do something for the league instead of themselves?

Just wait, Texas will be playing the victim card when this is all said and done. Just today Mack Brown complained about how the LHN was "too much work". They are a special breed in Texas.

Atm brings not a lot of TV market to the SEC, so a big **** you to Texas please we add a big team like ND or BYU, **** everything will just fine. We need to sit back for a couple days to feel everything out and then be very aggressive if need be. This **** is getting old.

the teams left over will look like the MAC when compared to the rosters of the big 4 conference's teams.

Schools like ISU (scoreboard) and KSU (Press Box) have secured loans based on teams signing on to stay together and projected revenues. If for some reason either school is left out and the conference dismantles with no exit fees then I think there would be massive lawsuits against the other schools.

As well as the new Football Facility.

Bigger is not always better, but if the super conference ******** comes up again soon then the big twelve minus three better get on the horn to poach teams from other conferences. We are in a crappy position if the super conference race comes to reality our ****s would be stuck in the sand.

This whole thing is just stupid. I really don't even care any more. College sports is slowly dying IMO.

If this 16 team **** happens, I'll be send an email a day to remove non-profit status.

I think its more of a "we hate you and can't stand to be in the same conference with you...so go **** yourself" kind of thing. I don't think there is a whole lot of logic to it. It's like an unhappy marriage that finally reaches the breaking point.
