Yeah, i dont put a whole lot of stock in Liucci.

100% that A&M is leaving, but im guessing its not until next week, at the earliest.

The only reason to do it friday would be as a parting shot at the LHN (which launches friday). Not that thatd be out of character for A&M, but i dont think they'll do that. Usually you see bad news buried by releasing it on a friday afternoon. Release it mid-week next week and you get publicity about it the rest of the week leading up into week 1.

One thing i do wonder: if we've got potential teams lined up, why not just pull the trigger and bring one or two of them in? Worst case scenario, TAMU stays, and we're back up to 11 or 12 teams. If TAMU does leave then you're at 10 or 11 teams, and you can stay there or add another team or two to get back to 12. I think it would be a proactive statement by the rest of the conference to basically say 'hey, TAMU, do what you want, we'll survive with or without you'.

I think that the Big 12 is waiting for TAMU to make a move first, thereby strengthening the Big 12's position when it comes to getting buyout money. If we went ahead and added BYU, A&M could say that them leaving potentially puts the Big 12 better off, rather than worse off. But if we don't add anyone until they leave, then the Big 12 can make the case that what A&M did was extremely damaging to the conference and try to get more buyout money.

Ok Ill post some 'serious' tweets from that tool Billy Liucci who has now resorted to trying bully Baylor since A&M can't hurt Texas.

"The Bears' clandestine actions throughout this A&M-SEC-Big 12 ordeal are enough for Ags to justify dropping BU in ALL sports moving forward"

"Drop Baylor from all future schedules and then let this Perryman cat do a "report" on what kind of impact THAT will have on Waco economy"

"BU would be crushed ... esp if you end up in CUSA and can't schedule games against the SEC team 90 miles down the road"

Or how about his post where he mentioned oklahoma with no source and then had to back off of his statement

"Last tweet was in no way OU-to-SEC related. That's not happening. Just another example of Beebe allowing league morale/stability to crumble."

in response to whether he has any source on the info or whether he can talk about it he says

"No, just behind-the-scenes rumbling from Norman to Dallas. Interesting development, however."

So really, this guy mostly just spouts off crap that he can't backup or else attacks other schools cause he is a complete tool. So I guess I don't see how posting his tweets is any more 'serious' than posting made up ones.
He should run for Prez.

Billy seems to have some good A and M sources, after all he is the mouthpiece when A and M wants something out. Same as Chip Brown last year with Texas.

But my guess is on anything not A and M related he is taking a wild stab and just promoting whatever A and M wants people to think. In this case, it is possible someone at A and M wants people to think OU is ******. Lot of his stuff is A and M propoganda, which is fine, that is what schools use these guys for.

If he had good a&m sources, he would get something right. The sun shines on a dog's *** at least once a day but his hasn't seen a ray yet.

Kelly has previously conveyed a desire to get more recruiting exposure in TX and the South due to population shifts. B12 membership would get him constant exposure in TX and provide ND network independence and sufficient scheduling flexibility in the manner they have now and desire in the future.

They would have nowhere near the independence in scheduling and TV exposure they have now. They'd have to play a Big 12 schedule and only their third tier rights would be available for a school network.

Which is more flexibility and independence than any other conference.

You are definitely wrong about the TV exposure part. They can keep their NBC contract for home games through 2015-16 plus they would get additional B12 money for their conference road games, most of them would be on ABC. ND doesn't get TV money now for any of their road games.

I do agree that they would lose some scheduling flexibility but they could still schedule their "must-have" annual games with USC, Navy, Mich St and Purdue. If AFA also joins the B12 with them, they can schedule AFA as a conference game each season.

Correct, the B12 cannot make any formal contact or annoucements regarding replacing A&M and/or expanding until the A&M departure is official. I am confident there has already been plenty of "informal" contact by the B12 with the likes of BYU and ND.
