Spoken like a true hauk.
Don't think there was any cause for the that

Palmer is right. We have not one ally or advocate in that group of schools that would like us to join. Hell, I doubt half the schools know who we are. We add no revenue, no excitement and no football tradition. How anyone can think "so you're saying there is a chance" is beyond me.

That said, I would love to see it happen and the only thing we have is a geographical advantage, which raises the chances of of joining just above the same odds that there really is a Santa Claus, but just below the existence of Bigfoot

For real, or another false alarm?

Contingent on acceptance to another conference.

"Meanwhile, the Big 12 would undoubtedly like to announce a new team or even teams by the end of September. Expansion committee in place."

The Big10 will never take us. Never ever.
So just how does Big ten expect to get to 16 members with the schools left agfter the SEC 16 and Pac 16 form? WVU? Pittsburgh? BYU? ISU? KState? KU?

ISU academics are certainly better than Nebby. Do not sell this ISU school short. I would think the Big Ten is more about who is on the football field and TV sets. The SEC could care less about academics.

The Pac 16 would be more agnostic (Cal/UCLA/USC/Colorado) and is not looking for Mormon or Catholic schools.:jimlad:

That may be. It's not his love of all things Okie State that makes me dislike him.
His natural gas holdings and wind energy plans did not pan out as well as expected and he had to renege some of his money promises. Unless his fortunes turn, he will have little to spread to other schools.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Texas A&M University today officially notified the Big 12 Conference that the institution will submit an application to join another athletic conference. Should this application be accepted, Texas A&M will end its membership in the Big 12 Conference effective June 30, 2012.

So, we're on the hook with this loser until some other conference takes their sorry ***?!?

They wouldn't have released this announcement if they hadn't already been accepted by the Souteastern Conference. I'm guessing it won't be official until the SEC has their 14th (or possibly 14th, 15th, and 16th) team lined up.

These people are borderline sociopaths (and I'm not exaggerating). Don't assume that.
