Since aTm has sent the letter of exit, can we actively invite others in without having aTm pay reduced fees? Or could we just treat BYU as our eleventh member, then when aTm leaves we would be back to ten?

I'm interested in the answer to this.

Nice to see SMU is making a grass roots effort to get in the Big 12. Just watched their 30 on 30 last night, they look like a wonderful and honest university to let into the big 12!

And if you go way early, to the beginning of this thread and the thread that immediately preceded it, the same people that come in here and whine about twitter\message board reports are the same people that were scoffing at TAMU leaving.

The message board rumors got the A&M move right.

But for every rumor that ends up being true, there are about 1000 that are full of ****.

That makes no sense at all. Maybe they end up in the Big East if we poach some of their schools though.

Agreed. Makes no sense. It's just interesting to see all these other schools whose eyes are getting bigger every time a conference changes a bit. There are a lot of schools who would love to be where ISU is now.

For some reason I can't find the realignment thread from 2010 but in it I said my source in the AD told me that both the big 12 was going to stay together (about 2 days before it was announced to the public) and that they are going to try to expand back to 12 with any combination of BYU, Air Force, Arkansas, and Houston (I believe these are the teams). I don't really find it a coincidence that both Houston and BYU names are getting leaked again.

Also, I heard yesterday that right now BYU is about 60-40 to join the big 12 for football only, but would be 100-0 if it was a package deal with Notre Dame.
