If the Pac 16 doesn't allow partial qualifiers no way in hell Boise State is headed there.
Not saying it would happen at all. Just saying that would be the ideal situation if TX and the forgotten five were to remain together. If the Pac 16 doesn't allow partial qualifiers no way in hell Boise State is headed there.

It'd be pretty funny if the Forgotten Five were enough to keep the conference bylaws in place, keep a bunch of forfeited revenue, keep the current television contracts (although it appears those can be voided), keep AQ status, and invite a bunch of mid-majors to join.
And this is what stinks about the current state of college sports. Boise can go undefeated for 5 years straight and probably still never get a shot at the national championship nor get into a major conference because they can't. Yet Washington State could go winless for 5 years straight, draw crowds of 10k per game (not all that far from it now) and feel secure in the PAC16.

They could easily help their own cause. Quit taking partial qualifiers. Then see how well they compete. They have an advantage on every school in some conferences like the Big 12 because they can take players who don't qualify for a real school, put them in classes that are roughly middle school difficulty, and get them eligible. "Oh, you're not going to qualify to get into Oregon? Well why don't you come join us at Boise State. We'll get you eligible."
Ok, everyone who is on twitter should start a rumor:
Texas and forgotten five to stay in Big 12 and add BYU and ND.
One way or another, the SEC's 14th team will create a spot for ISU in the Big East.
1) they take Mizzou. We take Mizzou's spot.
2) They take VA Tech. ACC takes Rutgers/Cuse/UConn. Big East needs to fill that slot.
3) They take WVU. Big East needs to fill that slot.
This isn't even considering us bringing more to the table than KSU or the Big East going to 14/16.
I think this is right, there should be a spot in the BE if things blow up, not guaranteed by any means, but it is probably the BE would have a spot. Clearly a strong B12 is best case though.
We are selling ourselves short people, we bring a lot more than you think. Lot of people on this board have been beaten down by the local Iowa media for years, and understandably think ISU brings nothing. IF you repeat a lie long enough the perception is there that it could be true. Don't let the DM Register and local radio jocks get to you. We should be all right.

Iowa State is among one of the less attractive BCS schools. Anyone who doesn't acknowledge that is kidding themselves. Not because of the school, but because of location, television, and football.
It also wouldn't be possible. We're worried the Fox contract can be voided if we only have 9 schools. No way five could keep it with the best part of the TV inventory gone.
