We'll just be the Big Heartland. :swoon:
Better Than Heartland Conference...
Kinda of like Better Than Ezra... I would hate to be Erza.

They were probably also winning. Hard to cheer when you're getting your *** kicked. Hey Utah was also louder than the home crowd. They didn't have gay male cheerleaders though. To be contrarian, I recall a recent A&M game in Ames. They were well discipline fans in the SW. They had organized cheers and were louder than all the home crowd.

Funny to me some say A&M to SEC is only about money. See the crowd & atmosphere last night at MSU? You don't get that at Iowa State. #mysa

Funny, I watched that game last night and thought the crowd was lame. When the MSU coach has to wave his arms to get the crowd to make noise, you know you're in trouble. Take away the cow bells and there's little fan noise at all.
I tweeted him back and he said this:

@AlexBerngard Yep, I missed that Big 12 showdown between Iowa and Iowa State! I've been to Ames many times. Horrible when Ags have come.

It was lame. Just like dimhammer's blog. Even small schools build new faciilities. So our videoboard is one of the largest ion the nation. We are using it as a windbreak for our kickers.Funny, I watched that game last night and thought the crowd was lame. When? In 2008 when were were 2-10 (0-8)? And there were still 45,495 at Jack Trice in late October?

I remember that game. Weather was terrible. 45,000 tickets might have been sold but there probably wasn't 10,000 in the seats in the second half. Weather is big issue that the SEC doesn't have to deal with. You put Mississippi State in that same situation and their fans wouldn't have even showed up. I actually want A&M gone at this point, but we can't lose the OK schools. If they go, patching this conference up would just be a joke.
I think the biggest takeaway from this humongo thread is that twitter is completely worthless ... a bunch of idiots making stuff up and announcing it like they are "in-the-know".
Wrong game, it was beautiful, unseasonably warm. Iowa State didn't punt and lost by a couple touchdowns. Good crowd.
So I called up the commissioner,
’tell me where do I sign?’
He said, ’we haven’t had that spirit here since nineteen ninety six’
