Not exactly sure.
Agree with the tweet. He wasn't talking about its horrible in Ames, he was talking about the Aggies and their mason jars.

It is "horrible when the ags have come".

I think the delays from A&M and OU are all just to keep their players, coaches and fans safe till after the football season is over. If A&M or OU were already gone and Baylor, KU, KSU, and/or ISU ended up not in BCS conferences, then when they rolled into town, I would not at all be surprised if pretty significant violence was directed at them. In fact, If I were A&M/OU and even UT, coming in to Manhattan or Ames, I would ask that the state patrol have at least double the normal convoy for my team bus this year.

Wow. You scare me.

Thought this was interesting. I think most people agree that the lawsuit stuff is only going to result in a few extra million for schools that get left out of the party. I bet Ken Starr knows that. I think he's making the smart move back trying to appeal to a few of the people who actually have the power to step in and do something...straight to DC yesterday afternoon to talk to lawmakers.

Liked the line too about Iowa State being included with Texas, A&M, Mizzou, and Kansas as one of the cash-generating schools and not one of the conferences' "smaller schools."

BREAKING … KEN STARR RETURNS TO HILL: President Bill Clinton's nemesis, Kenneth Starr now president of Baylor University in Waco, Texas, is on Capitol Hill today lobbying more than two dozen members of Congress about the preservation of college sports’ floundering Big 12 athletic conference, among other education issues.

A lobbyist familiar with Starr’s visit, which began Wednesday and ends today, tells PI that the push is about Starr “really trying to convey that you have to have the student athletes’ interests at heart first before chasing after the biggest contractual agreements†with television networks. Baylor could stand to lose significant money if the Big 12 broke up, with its marquee, cash-generating schools - Texas, Texas A&M, Kansas, Missouri, and Iowa State among others — scattering elsewhere. The quality and profile of competition for the conference’s smaller schools would also likely suffer with a Big 12 breakup.

Among the lawmakers Starr personally met with were many members of the Texas congressional delegation, as well as Reps. Virginia Foxx (R-N.C.), Jack Kingston (R-Ga.) and Kevin Yoder (R-Kan.).

I like the way Ken Starr is battling for his programs on all fronts. I trust our leadership is doing the same, though less visibly. At least for the public institutions, there is ultimately political accountability.

That may be the most idiotic post I've read out of the 11,000+ stupid comments that have been made about realignment. You sir have made us all dumber for reading this.

I can just see Wolf Blitzer saying, the threat level has been raised due to roadside bombs in Ames as the UT ISU games approaches.

You sir, are an idiot, may God have mercy on your soul.

Just passed the Ames airport on the way home and noticed that a plane was getting ready to pull a glider up. I didn't realize that Kansas and KSU were in town to talk about the conference.

Yes, mob violence. Always a sensible reaction to any problem.
