Fennelly was there and tweets "North Texas 24 Indiana 21!!! Coach Mac gets his first win at North Texas!!

Even better, it was a B1G team.

Congrats to coach mac for the win, though wow watching the end of that game online did i have some flashbacks to some disastrous endings from his time here.

Sweet! Way to go Mac! Big 10 had wins today, too, but didn't look especially strong in some of them. Glad to see the little guys take one from them!

Awesome for coach Mac, once a cyclone always a cyclone! Hope he can turn things around down there at North Texas

I watched the last 10 minutes of it (on the game clock) after I got bored of Florida and Kentucky on ESPN3.

Yeah, definitely a few flashbacks to some of our collapses in the McCarney era there... I loved Coach Mac to death, and he put Iowa State on the map as a football school (to whatever tiny degree), but giving up a scoring drive in 1:00 in the fourth, onside kick mayhem, etc. definitely came up in that North Texas-Indiana game. I'd seen that sort of stuff too many times from Iowa State when he was still here. Way too much of a "here we go again" feeling in watching it and wanting to see a North Texas take down a vaunted Big 10 school.

I'm glad to see that our new coach has his spirit without his bad luck, though.

I was watching last few minutes of this game. The big difference between Coach Mac and Coach Rhoads is "play not to loose" and "play to win"

Wow how pathetic in the bottom of the Big Ten his year with Indiana, Purdue and Minnesota? Of course Iowa has all three on its schedule and dodges Wisconsin, OSU and Illinois.

Of course. Pure luck. The Big Televen struggles this year.

Well, here's to hoping Nebby/Michigan/MSU and Penn St beat 'em. (And, I don't need someone to chime in here and say that if iowa does better it is good for us. Who cares, all I want to do is see them lose each and every week.)

man that really takes some wind out of our sail. just when we're good enough to beat iowa AND have a better record than them, the big 12 is unbelievable this year and the big 10 is awful.

sigh

Oh....my....god....Coach Fennelly not only went to a North Texas game, he was TWEETING? He is such an embarrassment to the program. :jimlad:

Remember this thread?

http://www.cyclonefanatic.com/forum/football/124748-north-texas-game-tailgate-watch-coach-mac.html

I thought we were all supposed to spit and kick something every time we heard McCarney's name if we were good cyclones?

Congrats to NT. Points and Laughs to Indiana

Missing the point there. While there were a few that criticized going to the game in there, the bigger issue some had was that the ISUAA chapter down there was putting something like this together.

Guess they wish they could recruit Florida, California, and Texas better. The rust bucket recruiting is not going so hot. Pennsylvania Ohio and Michigan have some players, maybe not enough.
